These Beauty Looks From The Critics Choice Awards Caught Our Eye
ICYMI: the 2019 Critics Choice Awards took place yesterday—and to no surprise, it was filled to the brim with standout beauty moments we couldn't wait to dissect! Sure, film fanatics tuned in to see the past year’s most noteworthy films be honored, but for some like us, the most awaited part of the night was the style and beauty show on the red carpet. And let’s just say, the 2019 Critics Choice Awards red carpet, which is still one of the first of this year’s awards season, did not disappoint.
Beauty lovers were treated to some of the most dramatic and breathtaking looks yet. Charlize Theron’s highlighted eyes, Janet Mock’s metallic smokey look, and Mandy Moore's pastel pink lids—all these looks took center stage as they sashayed down for photos.
Meanwhile, Angela Bassett turned up with her "lioness" hair, as Lady Gaga opted for her go-to Old Hollywood glamour look. But it was "Shameless" star Emmy Rossum, with a severe updo and vampy dark lips, that reigned supreme as one of the prettiest beauty looks of the night.
Ahead, you'll see more of our favorite looks from the Critics Choice Awards red carpet and how these A-listers are embracing some of the biggest beauty trends from the runway:
The trend: Vampy lips

We often see Emmy Rossum embracing her long waves and light-colored lips. But this time around, she opts for a tight updo that pulls back into both a high and low bun. She then finishes it off with a super-dark Burgundy lipstick. We could really get used to this sleek, chic new look!
The trend: Sparkly eye makeup and radiant skin
Badgley Mischka S/S 19
There’s no better way to debut a new set of bangs than this! Constance Wu caught everyone's attention with her fresh piece-y bangs and smooth blowout yesterday. The only thing that might steal the attention away from this hair look? Her sparkly eye makeup and to-die-for radiant skin!
The trend: Warm brown lips
Damir Doma S/S 19
Actress Julia Garner’s beauty look was created by celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo and an array of Chanel beauty products, which left her looking breathtakingly beautiful for the red carpet. For the exact shade, get your hands on a Chanel ‘Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayon in Warm Brown. You’re welcome!
The trend: Long lashes
Monse S/S '19
Sure, we love the wavy and effortless half-up, half-down style celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath gave Nicole Kidman, but can we also say that we couldn’t stop staring at the star’s long lashes! Her makeup artist Kate Synnott used KISS Lash Couture Faux Lash Extensions in Venus.
The trend: Red lips
Naeem Khan S/S '19
More red lips and tendrils—we’re sensing a new trend! Hairstylist John D. Set created Olivia Muni’s half-up, loose waves with Tresemme hairspray, while celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta created her stunning look with almost entirely Shiseido products, like their Modern Matte Lipstick and Whipped Powder Brush.
