Here, Anthea detailed some makeup tricks that are essential to achieving this look:

  • Skincare is top priority. She makes sure to start with skincare products before applying makeup, for a more flawless result. For Anthea, skincare and makeup go hand in hand in perfecting a look.

  • Priming is very important. She uses two primers, and applies one for the center and one for the outer part of the face. This is to give that “glow from within” effect, without looking oily.

  • She likes mixing two shades of foundation in achieving the right shade that will fit her client’s complexion. Since the model for this tutorial, Siobhan Moylan from IM agency, is half-Filipina, half-Irish, she opted for a darker shade of foundation to suit her fair complexion well. But when she deals with morenas, she usually goes for their exact skin tone to avoid ashy undertones.

  • When it comes to eyeshadow, she believes that less is more. Aside from putting eye primer and setting it with a brown eyeshadow to avoid patchiness, she usually opts for a bronze shade to add dimension to the eyes. She also adds a darker shade of brown on the outer part of the crease for a more seamlessly layered look. To make it fiercer, she blends the outer crease’s color upwards to achieve a cat eye-like effect.

  • She is fond of using cream products, because it makes the overall look more natural. She mixes two shades of cream blush, pink and orange, to achieve a peach shade perfect for a natural flushed look. She applies bronzer on the outer part of the face to add more color, then she puts more bronzer on the neck and the shoulders, to match the color of the face.

  • The key to great makeup is blending. The common mistake she notices most ladies do—but often overlooks—is overdoing the highlighter to look glowing. Instead of a natural glow, what this does is give the face unflattering glittery patches.

  • Baking is unnecessary for the style of makeup she prefers, so she usually just sets the T-zone with a translucent powder, to avoid that cakey finish.

  • For the lips, she likes putting nude lip liners and the “My lips but better” (or MLBB) tinted gloss instead of matte lipsticks, for a more natural look.
