In December of last year, a category 5 hurricane locally known as Odette made landfall in parts of Visayas, bringing with it torrential rains and violent winds. It quickly became one of the costliest and most devastating typhoons in the country, incurring ₱51.8 billion in damages, right after 2013’s Typhoon Yolanda.
As a response to the catastrophe brought about by Odette, the ABS-CBN Foundation immediately went to work, raising funds and money through various means. ABS-CBN also started the Isang Daan Sa Pagtutulungan campaign last January.
A 100-day fundraiser with activities led by Kapamilya programs, artists, and other personalities to help ABS-CBN Foundation’s Operation Odette, the fundraiser made some strides, but there are still families who need assistance, especially those whose homes were destroyed by the typhoon. With no homes to return to, a lot of them still live in evacuation centers.
To further raise funds for home repair kits, Metro, in partnership with Vantage, Inc., is holding the Metro Benefit Sale, a fundraising event for ABS-CBN Foundation’s Operation Odette. The initiative comprises of 8 days of online shopping for a cause, where exclusive and limited offers from a curated list of products, services, and experiences from partner brands will be available.
