Here's Everything You Need to Know about Eyebrowdery
Eyebrowdery offers a seamless way to wake up with perfect brows every day
This is a story of how much you can trust your friends. I learned about Eyebrowdery, a leading permanent makeup and aesthetic care center, from two of my friends. Both of them talked about how the secret to their perfect brows is 3D Eyebrowdery/3D+Ombre Eyebrowdery.
3D Eyebrowdery and 3D+Ombre Eyebrowdery are permanent makeup techniques to make you look like you’re born with perfectly groomed, symmetrical, and full brows. The former is for normal to dry skin while the latter is ideal for oily skin.
I immediately jumped on the chance to try 3D+Ombre Eyebrowdery, and didn’t even ask a lot of questions when the opportunity came up. I always admired the brows of the friends I mentioned earlier, so I knew that the results would be good. As far I was concerned, how they looked whenever I saw them with well-groomed brows was all I needed to convince me to get the procedure.
If you’re a permanent brow makeup virgin girl like me, the 3D+Ombre Eyebrowdery will happen in two sessions, at least 30 days apart. I was privileged that Klarisse Tabao, prime master artist and owner of Eyebrowdery herself, did my brows at the brand’s SM Megamall location.
Klarisse took the time to understand what I wanted and look at the pegs I had. It’s crucial that before one commits to Eyebrowdery, you study your own face shape, how you like to do your brows, and collect your pegs. Klarisse is there to refine and work it out, combining her recommendations with your ideas so you get that natural, but very intentional result.
The first thirty minutes or so are spent with Klarisse measuring the brows with different tools—both manual and digital. She then draws on the hairs and perfects the shape with a skin-safe marker. In my case, Klarisse did two different options, one on each brow, so we could see the effect of both and choose the one which suited my face best.
I chose to extend the tails of brows and sharpen them. It gives the entire face that lifted look, and because the end of my left eyebrow was always shorter than my right brow. Klarisse noted how the head of my brows needed more definition, so she placed brow strokes there too, and all along filled in the sparse areas.
Eyebrowdery doesn’t give a formula to be copy-pasted on everyone. They take their time to highlight the best of what you have, fill in the spaces that need it, and construct a brow that is uniquely yours. It may tend to take a few conversations between you and your artist, but they’re full of patience and a genuine interest for you to look your best and be happy.
The next part is easier and faster. After deciding on the look and a few more double-checking, anesthesia is applied to the brows. Once the numbness sets in, Klarisse goes to work. As I’m a bit more sensitive, I asked for a pause every now again for anesthesia to be re-applied. But I can definitely still say the whole experience is virtually painless, the cuts don’t feel anything more than a light scrape when the anesthesia slowly fades. A needle prick or a paper cut is far worse.
Klarisse then reaches for the Ombre Eyebrowdery handheld device to apply pigment on to the skin. It creates an effect similar to when you use brow pencil or powder at home. This is why gives that more natural, but defined and fuller brow. Results often last three years on average, but some clients are reported to come back after seven years.
After a few touches here and there, and two hours, I was a new and improved girl. In my case, my session ended with eyebrow threading as well. Fresh brows out of Eyebrowdery tend to look harsh—like you over did it with the brow gel and pencil, without doing the rest of your makeup. Klarisse handed me an after-care kit which contained brow shields to use in the shower, an ointment, and a instruction guide on how to care for my brows in the first seven days.
As I applied my makeup the way I would normally the next day, I appreciated how my brows needed no attention, but looked like I spent hours on them.
In two weeks time, the pigments slowly fade so you see the best results. By the second session, which is a touch-up to make sure the results are lasting, you will understand how indeed the promise of #wakeupwithmakeup is true...and to be always be thankful for friends who don’t gatekeep Eyebrowdery.
