Your Beauty Routine Can Bring You Closer To Nature—Here's How!
These days, more and more of our favorite beauty brands have been embracing the “natural” beauty trend. As you can notice, people increasingly want beauty products made of more natural-oriented ingredients, fewer harmful chemicals, paraben-free, and sulfate free formulations—and as a result, more natural skincare and makeup brands are dominating the beauty landscape.
Some work pretty okay, some sadly irritate your skin and cause breakouts, and some just aren't worth shelling out money for. But there are a few that work so good, take local favorite Human Nature for example—one of the most recognized and trusted natural personal care brands in the Philippines.
Human Heart Nature is the first Filipino beauty brand certified cruelty-free by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the first and only Southeast Asian brand on the roster of the US Natural Products Association (NPA). What's more, they're the first Asian brand to win in the prestigious Organic Monitor’s Sustainable Beauty Awards.
And just recently, this natural brand reached another milestone as they finally open their doors at SM City North Edsa—Human Nature’s very first physical store in a SM City store.
Holding true to its commitment to put people over profit and provide all employees with time for rest and family, this store is closed every Sunday. “One of the decisions we made was to honor the Sabbath by allowing all our people to rest on Sundays and to believe in this promise:
“If you watch your step on the Sabbath and don’t use my holy day for personal advantage, if you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy, God’s holy day as a celebration, if you honor it by refusing ‘business as usual,’ making money, running here and there—then you’ll be free to enjoy God! Oh, I’ll make you ride high and soar above it all. I’ll make you feast on the inheritance of your ancestor Jacob. Yes! God says so!" —Isaiah 58:13-14 (MSG).
So it took us nine years to open in a major mall because of the requirement to open on Sundays,” said Human Nature Co-Founder and Chairman, Dylan Wilk. “We wanted to help change employment practices not just for our people but for the millions of Filipinos who wake up every day with no job security, minimum wage, and no chance at a better future.”
And one more thing, the 560-strong company continues to enforce a strict no firing policy for all regular employees. “A variety of interventions are put in place for the bottom-of-the-pyramid (BoP) employees’ holistic well-being covering transformation (both tangible and intangible) in terms of their family life, work life and community life with the end goal of getting them and their families out of poverty.”
Through a combination of different policies and sustainable programs for their workers, Human Nature envisions itself to be the most compassionate beauty employer in the Philippines.
