Buns And Bangs: The Biggest Hair Trend At The 2019 SAG Awards
With awards season in full swing, the stars are pulling out all the stops for their stunning red carpet appearances show after show. At the beginning of January, we've seen a combination of fairytale gowns and classic—though no less dramatic—Hollywood throwbacks at Golden Globes. The following week, celebrities made way for more conventional, often figure-hugging choices for their red carpet looks at Critics' Choice Awards. In short, the fashion lovers had plenty to drool over this season.

But as we all know, no red carpet look is complete without a stunning hair and makeup look. The makeup can look great but if the 'do ain't that great, it can often sabotage an otherwise pretty ensemble.
That's why, in the beauty department at this year's SAG Awards, we've also seen countless standout celebrity beauty looks, which are actually giving us major inspiration for the rest of awards season to come!
Earlier today, the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards commenced and it absolutely brought nothing less than gorgeous hair and makeup moments that left us, once again, in awe. From the makeup down to the nails, celebrities have been turning heads left and right. But, if there’s one beauty trend that we couldn’t help but notice on the silver carpet, it would probably be the bun with bangs hair trend. From red carpet mainstays like Sandra Oh to Hollywood up-and-comers like Fiona Xie, everyone at this year’s SAG Awards showed up in a 'bun and bang' combo. To know what we're talking about, scroll through!
Fiona Xie
The Crazy Rich Asians actress did not disappoint with this beauty look! Fiona put her silver carpet glam in the trusted hands of celebrity hairstylist Castillo, who worked her long, black hair into a high bun with side-swept fringe framing the side of her face. We simply can't help but screencap in awe.
Jenna Lyng Adams
There's something about a blunt bang—cut straight across the forehead that makes an elegant updo feel cool and relaxed, right? Plus, it looks so soft that it flatters the face perfectly. Pass the scissors please...
Sandra Oh
Now, who says women with curly hair can't wear bangs? Sandra Oh proves that this look can be beautifully classic and feminine as she wore a high bun with wispy curls across her forehead. Trruly one for the books!
Emma Stone
Emma Stone has several signature beauty looks, and we've seen it once again at this year’s SAG Awards. Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak gave the actress a delicate bun woven with gold ribbon and finished with a glossy side fringe.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is a vision in an updated old Hollywood look at the SAG Awards. She arrived on the silver carpet in a side-swept, pink-backed updo and glamorous makeup. Needles to say, she stole the show yet again, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the season.
