A Comprehensive Look at BTS' Hair Transformations Through the Years
Every hair color, hairstyle, and haircut there is to know throughout the world's top boy group's career so far
Over the past seven years since their 2013 debut, BTS has gone through different styles in both their music and aesthetic. Originally created by music producer and Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Shi-hyuk as a hip hop group, the septet made up of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—then aged 15 to 20—entered the mainstream Korean music scene with a fierce and brash image.

During their rookie year, most of the members sported dark hair complemented by thick black eyeliner and edgy punk/hip-hop outfits. This look, which they retained throughout their promotional activities for their first album became definitive of their identity as the music act that “blocks out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets,” hence their name 'Bangtan Sonyeondan' or Bulletproof Boy Scouts in Korean.
As the group matured and evolved, they began playing around with different concepts for their succeeding albums. While seamlessly hopping from one genre to another—from hip hop to pop, R&B, ballads, to EDM, you name it—they've tried it, and they also changed up their fashion and hairstyles as they went along!

Scroll through the gallery to check out BTS’ hair transformations through their music videos and some major highlights in their career. You're welcome!
