Hair Full Of Secrets: The Truth Behind Kaia Gerber’s Voluminous Hair For The Valentino Couture Show

When it’s fashion season, we expect models to rock both pretty and outlandish hair and makeup looks backstage, at photo shoots, on the runway, and sometimes even on the streets. They’re glammed up by some of the world's best designers, as well as hair and makeup artists, which gives us looks that are bold, bizarre, and striking, and definitely statement-worthy! But if you thought you've already seen it all, the recent Valentino Haute Couture show proves that there is a lot more to beauty as they have left us speechless when they debuted what could be their most dramatic hair look yet at Paris Fashion Week.

Seven of their models were adorned with outrageous wigs that particularly looked very real, and '90s supermodel Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber who was part of the line-up, caught the attention of the beauty and fashion critics when she sashayed her way down the catwalk at Hotel Rothschild with seriously volumized hair. The light pink feathered gown she wore was a definite sight to see, but no one could stop talking about her larger-than-life hair.

Created by backstage legend and one of the fashion industry's greats Guido Palau, the voluminous, ‘60s-inspired hair was actually a wig, dyed to match the model's own hair. According to the show’s lead hair colorist Josh Wood, it took “50 wigs, 3,700 miles, 250 colour processes, 150 hours of prep, 11 team members, 7 models and one inspiration” to get the Valentino look.

While the hairstyle received raving reviews from the internet and beauty critics, the supermodel seemed to be pleased and a big fan of the full look herself. "@maisonvalentino HAUTE COUTURE. @pppiccioli words cannot describe how much this moment means to me," she captioned her post on Instagram. "You are a visionary and being able to wear your art is a true honor."
