Tennis Star Naomi Osaka Shows Us How Hairstyles Should Be Done
She's our new favorite coquette girlie in sports!
Japanese tennis superstar Naomi Osaka never disappoints. She recently dominated the US Open with stunning fashion and beauty statements, impressing us all with her scores while stunning in coquette girlie vibes. The match was a treat for beauty and tennis enthusiasts, showcasing lovely pins and bows in the well-loved sport. It gave us a glimpse of what the game could look like when mixed with a little bit of style, sass, and creative artistry.
In her first match at the US Open, Naomi wore a lime green dress with a matching large bow on the back, designed by Yoon Ahn in collaboration with Ambush, channeling Lolita Fashion in the Japanese sub context of innocence and beauty of childhood. The color? it reminds us of Charlie XCX’s brat summer vibes, seamlessly embodying the charming aesthetic style–she truly understood the assignment!
Upon entering the stadium she complemented her outfit with headphones that resembled a headband. Her hair is tailored with designer Jennifer Behr’s primavera hairpins, styled by celebrity hairstylist Marty Harper. Truly seizing the moment in a flabbergasting look!
Naomi's visuals were perfect counterparts, representing day and night in sports. Marty shared a post on Instagram showcasing the athlete’s daytime hairstyle—a perfectly textured ponytail using Fekkai hair care for full blown volume and dry texturing. For the night style, she shows off her her hair with a braided bun decorated with Perla Bobby, perfectly juxtaposing the sequences of each style.
Apart from dominating the game with her hairstyle, Naomi's main goal to excel in tennis did not falter. After her maternity leave last year, she’s now on back and on fire, taking down former French champion and No. 10 seed Jelena Ostapenko, marking her first top-10 win since January 2020. She won 39 out of 50 service points and closed the match with a sharply angled forehand.
She gave a great performance overall, serving up a game while showcasing outmatched looks that scored flawlessly on the audience's scoreboards. We’re counting on Naomi's future matches, with or without her hair pins, 'cause we know that she can ace the style and beauty game every time!
