These Beauty Experts Tell Us Their ABS-CBN Ball 2019 Hair and Makeup Predictions
Ahead, see the top beauty trends you'll most likely spot at the biggest event of the year!
The 2019 ABS-CBN Ball is just a couple of days away—and as usual, here at Metro.Style, we’ll be scouring the red carpet in search of the hottest hair and makeup trends of the night!
In the meantime, we chatted with experts to do a little fortune telling as we wait for the most-awaited celebrity event of the year. Read on to find out what the pros predict for this star-studded event, and be sure to check back on September 14, Saturday, to see how many of our beauty forecasts came true!
Last year, celebs like Elisse Joson and Barbie Imperial finished off their looks with rosy glows, barely-there lips and dewy skin, a trend that celebrity makeup artist Mark Qua swears by and believes will reemerge this season. “Since both of them have great skin, I’ll be focusing on their complexion to make it look more radiant so they will be glowing on the red carpet. As for they eyes, maybe we will just do a soft glam finish and not overdo the look,” he says. One of Pia Wurtzbach's trusted makeup artists Muriel Vega-Perez also expects “glass skin, bronzed and dewy skin for morenas.”
Will our favorite celebs break some beauty rules for the much anticipated event? Kim Chiu and Yassi Pressman’s go-to makeup artist Jake Galvez says yes. “I’m predicting a lot of color on the eyes, specifically lilac and purple hues.” Jake also expects sparkly and glittery smokey eyes—namely jewel tones and metallics—to be big on the red carpet.
While for makeup artist Rick Calderon, he says that he’s hoping to see more pops of colors. “I’m foreseeing a lot of bold lip colors for a classic, clean beauty look. Also another one is a pop of color that can easily be obtained by picking one color from your outfit (usually the one that stands out), and using it on your eye makeup.”
From bands, barrettes, to pearls, we are predicting that hair accessories will rule over at the ABS-CBN Ball 2019 red carpet, seeing how obsessed many of us are with taking jewelry beyond the body. According to Jake, “Since the theme is Modern Filipiniana, I’m expecting a lot of pearls! Whether in eyeshadow texture, pearl as a face or eye accessory, on the nails and hair!”
With Modern Filipiniana being the theme this year, we’re surely expecting glorious creations from designers with such intricate detailing. And for us, that only means one thing: hair up! Being that hair is one of the most important accessories you can have, you don’t want to over accessorize by making it too fussy. Whether romantic and loosely pinned, or slick and perfectly tucked, subtle is the way to go.
