REVLON LIPSTICK TALKS #LIVEBOLDLY: Alex Godinez’s Heart for Arts

Alex Godinez is a triple threat talent: she’s a beauty gifted with a beautiful voice and a theater actress who smoothly made a crossover to mainstream entertainment. Best remembered for her role as Sharpay Evans in the local theater adaptation of High School Musical, Alex pursued her passion even more by studying music in the United States. She went on to star in Saturday Night Fever and Grease: The Musical.

Alex also starred in the local staging of American Idiot and subsequently won Best Featured Actress (Musical) in the Broadway World Philippines Awards. She recently played a lead role in the film Across the Crescent Moon.

The young actress’s pursuit of her passion in the arts shows there’s no other way to live life but to live it boldly. She shows it in a variety of ways too.

She freely pursues her love for music. “Magic really happened when I first attended a summer workshop with Playshop and I sang my first song on the stage, I felt so alive! I love to make music because sounds can heal. I feel most empowered when I’m creating and sharing that creation with others is everything.”

She is unafraid to connect with others. “I want to connect with people. There are so many moments in my life where I felt alone. I thought ‘What’s wrong with me?’ I thought about it and it’s about being able to link up and relate with other people and see that everyone’s going through the same thing. For me, to live boldly means to be unafraid to connect with people. To be vulnerable in front of people—like on stage.”

She equates confidence with happiness. “I feel most confident when I’m happy. I feel most beautiful when I’m happy. I think that’s when your thoughts and what you’re doing are aligned with everything.”

Apart from confidence, Alex readily shares how Revlon also makes her feel beautiful and enables her to live boldly. Alex pursues her passion for music and the arts while looking beautiful and gorgeous in Revlon Balm Stain in Honey and Revlon Powder Blush in Sultry Sienna.
