Biodegradable Brush Handles? This New Vegan Line Makes It Possible!

BYS Cosmetics introduces a new collection to their brand with Be Free by BYS. The line presents 16 makeup products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. 

In celebration of the new launch, BYS Cosmetics invited press, influencers, and make-up artists to a lovely dinner at Palacio De Memoria. The program was hosted by Christi McGarry and the highlight of the night was the makeup class by celebrity makeup artist Gery Penaso. Gery is the artist behind the cover-worthy looks of Alexa Ilacad, Lovi Poe, and Juliana Gomez. 

He demonstrated the different key features of Be Free by BYS  model Patricia Henson. Some  products he used to note were the Face Trio Palette that has two blushes and a highlighter and the Matte Lipstick which comes in six colors: “Bloom”, “Birch”, “Blossom,” “Rose”, “Peach”, and “Berry”.

Aside from these, Be Free by BYS features everything you need to create a variety of makeup looks. Perfect your base with the Makeup Primer and Liquid Foundation made with coconut oil, broccoli seed, and algae extract. Achieve those feathered brows with the Brow Gel or the Brow Trio Palette. There is also the Lip & Cheek Tint in the shades “Natural” or “Blush” for those who love an effortless look that’s best for busy days. 

Be Free by BYS also includes makeup tools like Makeup Sponges that are made from latex-free foam and a 4-Piece Brush Kit that have biodegradable brush handles made of wheat straws and PLA+ extracted from natural plant sources like corn.

The dinner also featured garments by designer Russell Villafuerte and his sustainable fashion line Strongvillage. A silent auction was held for Villafuerte’s pieces that reimagine discarded fabrics into coveted pieces. Proceeds from the auction were donated to a charity chosen by BYS. After the program, Marga on the Mic provided beats to cap off the night with some dancing. 

Be Free by BYS is but another notable milestone to the brand's impressive portfolio. Since coming to the Philippines, the Australian brand partnered with Nadine Lustre, Park Seo-joon, and ENHYPEN as  ambassadors. In 2021, BYS Cosmetics Philippines launched its very own skincare line, Skin By BYS. In 2022, the brand introduced Pout By BYS, a collection of creamy-formulated lipsticks, in collaboration with Han So-hee.
