WATCH: Catriona Gray Shows You How To Get Her Pageant Makeup Look
We’re still not over it! It’s been two months already since the announcement of Catriona Gray’s win as Miss Universe 2018, but since the queen is back in Manila for her homecoming, the Miss U fever is on again!
While this isn’t the first time for Catriona to come back to the Philippines (in case you didn't know, she spent the holidays here with her family), it’s her first public appearance since she won the Miss Universe crown. And in a pageant-crazed country like ours, you can be sure that events like this are nothing but exciting and highly-anticipated. Here's proof:
But before all of these happened, we shouldn’t forget how Catriona made us all proud once again as she got featured at the world-renowned fashion and lifestyle magazine, Vogue. In the viral video from Vogue's beauty web series "Beauty Secrets", which already reached 380,000 views on YouTube, Catriona shared how she got her award-winning glow:
Catriona started it off with her skincare routine. “Usually I like to use micellar water to cleanse my face,” she said. “It’s quick, it’s easy, you know when you’re backstage, you sometimes don’t have access to a sink.” Then she goes with a face serum and eye cream after—which she also uses around her nose and places that get dry and red.
While most girls play up with only one feature at a time with their looks, for her coronation night, we've all seen how Catriona decided to highlight her eyes and lips for maximum effect. The sparkle of her lids comes courtesy of indie brand Juvia’s Place Masquerade palette, NARS shadow stick, Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Bronzed Bell.
Unlike some celebrities and models who apply just a light layer of tinted mositurizer and call it a day, Catriona’s makeup is so on-point and fully made-up. With foundation, concealer, powder to bake, highlighter, blush, contour, and a whole lot more, her maximalist approach gives a suprisingly subtle result—until she puts on lipstick. Though she tested a brown lip shade that she wore for Binibining Pilipinas, Catriona couldn’t resist dipping into Fenty’s Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. “That application though!” she exclaimed before finishing it off with a setting spray from Make Up For Ever.
Enough of us teasing! To see how our queen did her makeup exactly, watch this video below:
Aside from Catriona, global Pinay Kelsey Merritt also got featured in this web series of Vogue in line with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Kylie Jenner, Lili Reinhart, Rihanna, Hailey Baldwin, Rosie Huntington, Bella Hadid, Victoria Beckham, Drew Barrymore and more.
