Get The Greek-Inspired Makeup Look From Dior's Cruise 2022 Show
Pearls for the eyes? Yes please!
Maria Grazia Chiuri recently presented her Cruise 2022 collection for Dior, in none other than picturesque Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece. As with every Dior show, it was everything the fashion house is known for and more, showcasing Chiuri's take on Dior's iconic silhouettes, with a chic street style take. Greek-inspired flowy dresses alongside modern sportswear dripping in Dior goodness embodied all the fresh fashion energy we needed.
As for the makeup looks, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup Peter Philips created a makeup look with a surprising eye feature for the Cruise 2022 show. He describes "eyes subtly made up using the 5 Coleurs Couture Cruise 2022 Palette, then emphasized by pearls. The eyes blend the graphism of the traditional Greek eye, or Matiasma, with punk insolence. The look also draws inspiration from the beauty of surrealist art, such as that discovered by the legendary gallerist, Alexandre Iolas."
GET THE LOOK
Peter Philips shares his step-by-step process on how to recreate the ethereal beauty looks:
Start on the upper eyelid with nude, sand, and gold tones from the 5 Coleurs Couture Cruise 2022 palette. Apply pearls on the lash line, or all around the eye, or a single pearl at the inner and outer corners, or just a single pearl at the inner corner. To finish, apply a very light coat of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof 091 Noir/Black to the tips of the upper lashes, and tidy the brows with Diorshow Kabuki Brow Styler.
To achieve a "natural and luminous complexion", Peter advises to carry out the Dior Prestige skincare routine by applying the Micro-Lotion de Rose, then the Micro-Serum de Rose Yeux, followed by the Micro-Huile de Rose Advanced Serum. After which you apply the Dior Backstage Face & Body Primer 001 Universal to help blur and illuminate the complexion, followed by the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation, which offers translucency for every skin tone. To finish, apply a light touch of Dior Backstage Face & Body Powder-No-Powder.
Create natural-looking lips using the Dior Addict Lip Glow 000 Universal Clear.
Nails are also kept natural by using the Dior Vernis 108 Muguet.
Finally, hair was kept natural or plaited in long pony tails. Some of the models had accessories in the center parting or spread throughout the plaits.
