The beauty social media star proves that there is nothing like success that’s tied to your roots

<p>“I think the most important thing about my growth as a creator, it was really timing,” shares <strong>Marj Maroket</strong>. The TikTok beauty guru with close to half a million followers is one of the many creators who found fame in isolation during the pandemic. </p><div><br/></div><p>It’s a digital fairy tale crafted through virality and constantly keeping up with the trend. Nowadays, Marj is the go-to whenever a new release drops or when you need a lesson on how to improve your beauty skills. We can also scroll down through her feed and see how much she has evolved and how life has flourished. But, Marj, true to what makes beauty and makeup powerful, considers her true achievements to be born out of sincerity.</p><div><br/></div><p>When asked about her biggest accomplishment so far, it’s her collaboration with Filipino beauty brand <a href="https://happyskincosmetics.com/products/happy-skin-x-marj-full-brush-set?variant=45886362911000" target="_blank">Happy Skin</a>. Late last year, Marj released a seven-piece brush and blender set, after testing out the product right in front of her viewers’ eyes for months. “That was like a major dream for me to collaborate with a brand on something that I wanted to put out,” says Marj. “ I already knew it was something I wanted to do because I saw the gap in the Filipino beauty market.”</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Related Story: </strong><a href="/beauty/makeup/metro-beauty-insider-tiktok-star-marj-maroket/34966" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Metro Beauty Insider: TikTok Star Marj Maroket</a></div><p>The beauty tools set proved to be such a hit as they are a <a href="https://metro.style/beauty/body/metro-beauty-awards-2023-winners-list/36777" target="_blank">Metro Beauty Awards 2023 winner</a>. The collaboration also produced a part deux in the Happy Skin x Marj Petite Brush Set. She notes, “It’s an honor [for me] that I could represent their brand and our country.”</p><div><br/></div><p>Another factor that makes Marj the relatable figure is how she’s part of the revolution that’s placing morena beauty in the mainstream. Was it intentional? “I wasn&#x27;t aware of the impact I was making. She’s expanded in sharing more of her life aside from her beauty favorites. She also acknowledges how the platform always leaves room to grow. “What I like about it is that it encourages discussion. It opens up a lot of topics that aren&#x27;t discussed every day,” she shares. </p><div><br/></div><p>It’s hard to believe that it’s only been four years since Marj decided to pass the time indoors via TikTok. (We scrolled back, and her first beauty video was a skincare reco one!) Who knows what the next four years and more will be like for Marj.
