Today is the day 'Darna' fans have been waiting for! The highly-anticipated show premieres today, ushering a new era for Filipino TV history! This generation's Darna, Jane De Leon, recently graced METRO's cover, in a fiery red-themed fashion shoot, clad in some of the country's best designers' creations.

The shoot concept was made to convey power, and an overall mood of strength, confidence, and passion—just some of the Darna character's well-loved traits. Jane De Leon, the beautiful young actress who now portrays this iconic role, was transformed to look like a stylish superhero, in capes, body suits, dresses, and flowy gowns, getting us even more excited for her actual costume—soon to be revealed on the show!

As for her beauty, the Metro team, together with the glam team RB Chanco for makeup and Valerie Corpuz for hair, created a look that brought out Jane's innate attractiveness, and her facial features. We wanted to stay true to the bombshell persona that Darna conveys, and in this shoot, we made sure to highlight that via sexy, sultry eyes, seductive red lips, and voluminous, wavy hair!

To add a bit of oomph, we opted to have nails customized by local designer Mara Loyola, who created intricately designed almond-shaped nails that featured smoke-like prints, glitter, and metallic gold detailing. It added the right amount of edge to the entire look!

In true Darna fashion, Jane de Leon brought life to the looks like a pro! We can't wait to see how she brings this iconic character to life on the small screen. Who's watching with us?

Darna will pilot on Philippine primetime on August 15, 2022 through the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, Jeepney TV, A2Z, and iWantTFC. It is distributed by ABS-CBN Entertainment and produced by JRB Creative Production.
