Legendary Makeup Artist Pat McGrath Teams Up With The Met Gala 2018 For A Limited-Edition Beauty And Clothing Line
When you think about Met Gala, the first thing that comes into mind would be your favorite celebrities dressed fantastically in the name of fashion and a good cause. However, this year, the annual fundraising gala shows us that it’s not just all about fashion—as legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath partnered with them and has officially become the first beauty brand ever to be sold in its iconic Met Store.
“The Costume Institute's exhibitions are legendary, and I am thrilled to be able to present this exclusive range of products inspired by this prestigious exhibition," says Pat McGrath. "Religious history and artifacts have always been vital influences on my work, and it is an extraordinary honor for me to be unveiling these new pieces alongside this breathtaking exhibition as the first-ever beauty brand at New York's iconic Met Store."
The limited-edition collection includes a special-edition version of the Mothership IV: Decadence Eyeshadow Palette. The five-pan bundle has been rebooted this time with Met-branded packaging. The crown-adorned palette contains positively regal shimmer shades in trendy colors such as champagne, turquoise, and rose gold.
Then there’s the intensely shiny lip gloss, Lust: Gloss Aliengelic, a hydrating topcoat that applies like a treatment while giving your lips a three-dimensiona shine. And to keep with this year’s theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, the packaging features artwork from the collection.
