Meet The Thai Makeup Artist Behind Julia Barretto And Erich Gonzales’ Glowing Makeup Looks

We went straight to the woman behind the celebrity looks we're obsessed with!

Julia Barretto can really do no wrong when it comes to beauty looks. With the help of her trusted glam team, she always achieves a rare breed of understated glam, even when she’s opting for amped-up red carpet makeup. And let’s not forget her gorgeous locks—the actress has sported some incredible styles over the years, from chic updos to soft waves, and we’ll never forget her fringe bangs.

Although the actress has made certain beauty looks her unofficial signature, think glowing skin, straight brushed-up brows, and pinky-nude lips, she sometimes does something entirely unpredictable. Green eyeshadow! Hot pink glitter lids! Light purple eyeliner! Regardless, we’re always smitten by her looks.

In light of the actress’ most recent red carpet appearance at the ABS-CBN Ball, we couldn’t help but notice her light, airy makeup, blurry lips and glowing skin. Think K-Beauty perfection!

To our surprise, this year, Julia did not opt for her go-to glam team, but instead, she booked Thailand-based makeup artist, Best.

Best—an influencer in her own right—paints on the faces of Thailand’s most sought after celebrities. And in case you didn’t know, Julia isn't the first Filipina that she was able to work with. She also got the chance to do makeup for Erich Gonzales and Lucy Torres-Gomez for a campaign for cult-fave beauty brand, Snailwhite, as well as young actress Andrea Brillantes, for another project.

Going back to Julia, Best said that it was her first time to see Julia at the ball, “I know her through Erich, whom I had the chance to work with before. I think that’s why she decided to invite me to work with her.” “I have gone through her Instagram to study her style and try to think about a look that she never did before. I want to make her look fresh and young. After all, she's just in her 20s,” Best said.

The A-list makeup artist added that her top tip to look red carpet-ready is to always rely on the combination of the makeup artists skill and the dress or gown that the celebrity will wear. We couldn't agree more—because different artists have different takes on looks, and in their case, Best's fresh, glowing makeup skills did wonders for Julia's streamlined Modern Filipiniana look. At the ABS-CBN Ball, Julia complemented her fresh and radiant look with a white embroidered dress by Rajo Laurel.

Love this beauty look? You're not alone. We're pretty much obsessed. Check out more of Best's makeup work in the gallery below:
