The Coolest New York Fashion Week Beauty Trends We Can't Stop Looking At

New York Fashion Week isn’t just about the after parties around the Big Apple and spotting of celebrities on the front row. It is the bi-annual event where we see fledging fashion and beauty trends emerge, often setting the tone for the shows across the pond in London, Milan and Paris.

Beauty-wise, New York is known for playing slightly safer than its European cousins. This season though, its been refreshing to see design houses experiment with everything from matchy-matchy glitter makeup to glorious chignons. Fresh off the catwalk, these are the trends we can't seem to stop looking at, wondering if we can pull any of them off. Enjoy the eye candy!

The shiny smoky eye made an appearance once again at Tom Ford. Makeup artist Diane Kendal layered cream eyeshadows over mauve, gray, and plum powder shadows over dark brown pencil, topping it all off with an eye gloss before the models stepped out. Talk about smoky eyes to the next level!

A sleek, chic ponytail courtesy of hairstylist Justine Marjan and a terracota makeup moment proved to be the perfect beauty pairing at Cushnie et Ochs. Models walked the runway with a warm reddish-tan worn on lids, lips, and cheeks. Monochromatic color is set on all the right places to give the face dimension!

For this look, makeup artist Sado Ito only used three makeup products, all from NARS: the Soft Matte Concealer, the Super Radiant Booster, and the new Lip Balm. The bareness of the face, however, is what made the two tiny pearls at the inner corners of the eyes look as strong and striking as, say, a flick of neon liner or bold lip trend.

At Area, hairstylist Jawara took the bling trend to a whole new level with the crystal-mesh headpieces that he placed over hair that had been slicked back into low ponytails with a tiny braid running down the center of the head. The message at Area is clear: bling is in!

We’re all feeling the ‘70s with this glitter-lids-and-lips combo for Rodarte’s homecoming show in Los Angeles. To create this look, makeup artist James Kaliardos used fuchsia, pink, or red lipstick as a base, swiping it onto the eyelids and lips, followed by color-matched glitter that he pressed on top. The result? Light-catching splashes of color, on the runway, and all over Instagram!
