REVLON LIPSTICK TALKS #LIVEBOLDLY: Pretty Plump Pinays
What could be more powerful than a pair of twins advocating body acceptance?
Danah and Stacy Gutierrez are the sisters behind Plump.ph which mainly promotes body positivity. It all began as a passion project after Stacy battled an eating disorder (anorexia bulimia) and as Danah struggled when her twin sister kept it a secret from her. The twins brainstormed together to share their story and inspire others. In the process of sharing their story, they have lived boldly and empowered fellow women as well.
They have a clear idea of what beauty is. “What keeps me from relapsing first and foremost is just redefining beauty for myself. For the longest time, magazines were my bible. I just kept on absorbing all the messages about how women should look and act. On my path to recovery, I did a media detox. I redefined beauty through the Bible and God’s definition of beauty which is all about character and what you can give back to the world,” Stacy shared.
They value authenticity. “What I love about myself is that I’m authentic. I think authenticity is such a good drive for being honest and vulnerable online. If you check out my Instagram, you can see the things I’m passionate about and things I speak up against which really matter to me. On the internet, no one can discern anymore what’s real and what’s fake. I think the world is just crying for authenticity and genuineness,” Danah said.
They are honest and vocal with their thoughts. “I live boldly by daring to speak the truth, truths that other people are afraid to hear, truths that might be offensive to others; but it is what it is. You know you can’t empower women if you’re always going to be afraid of what other people might say,” Stacy declared. Likewise, Danah is equally expressive saying, “I live boldly by sharing my faith and being authentic when it comes to baring my soul and sharing my experiences with the people who follow me, my friends and family. Living boldly is being true to yourself—acknowledging that you have strengths and weaknesses, and you can love yourself where you are but still work on becoming a better version of you.”
The twins feel at their most beautiful when they’re free to be themselves and this includes expressing themselves with how they play up their looks and features with makeup. Stacy loves wearing Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry and Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Filter Foundation in Sand Beige. Danah, on the other hand, is a fan of Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive and Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Filter Foundation in Natural Ochre.
“I think makeup helps in terms of boosting your confidence. It doesn’t mean that you’re relying on makeup for your self-worth or your self-esteem. It’s more like wanting to present your best self and make-up is a good tool for that,” Stacy meaningfully declared.
