WATCH: Denise Laurel and Bobbi Brown’s Felix Nguyen Talk Skin, Shimmer, and Beauty That Celebrates You

With her effortlessly lush set of brows beautifully framing her doe eyes and ever effervescent skin, you'd think Denise Laurel has only ever had flawless beauty episodes. But What we recently learned from her, though, is that even the smartest, most beautiful women go through beauty debacles, too.

"I was on this teen show and I had fallen asleep while they were doing my makeup. They shaved my eyebrows. Ever since then, ever since that day, I have never plucked or shaved my eyebrows or waxed them ever again," she candidly shared as she played a fun game of Q&A with Bobbi Brown's Asia Pacific Education and Artistry Manager, Felix Nguyen. Denise and Felix headlined a lovely exclusive brunch Bobbi Brown held last month, afterwhich they had a fun session playing with color at the brand’s SM Aura Premier boutique.

The actress' innate confidence and love for makeup are two things that have kept her beauty game strong since then.

"God doesn't make mistakes so whoever you are, you're a work of art and you're God's work of art," she enthused. "There's nobody else in the world like you out there, everybody has something beautiful about them—the moment you embrace what you have and you find beauty in it, you become the most lovable person in the world."

No doubt wise words from Denise, who is one of Bobbi Brown's local influencers this year (global counterparts include Olivia Palermo, Pony, and Patricia Bright). This multi-hyphenate makes for an ideal beauty, style, and life role model because not only is she a remarkable actress (both as a protagonist and an antagonist), she's also a very hands-on mom, and an opinionated woman. We love how she speaks her mind on and off cam!

We got up close and personal over brunch, as she and Felix shared their tried-and-tested beauty hacks and beloved products. One thing they're both obsessed with? Skin! Felix, who was here in the country for one of his regular training sessions for the brand's beauty consultants, is an advocate of fresh, au naturel skin.

"Use something that's water-based, like a hydrating gel or hydrating face cream and then a long-wear weightless foundation. A lot of times when I'm feeling tired, before I put on my moisturizer (or after, it doesn't matter), I put ice on my face or get a towel and put it in cold water and just leave it on—it gives me a little push when I'm feeling tired and kinda kind of gives me a little glow."

"At that time, I was super tanned so I would use a 4 or a 4.5. My second Bobbi Brown product was a blusher, and then the third was the Shimmer Brick Compact."
