The beauty of every Filipina woman continues to be empowered through Binibining Pilipinas and Comestique Asia Corporation, as the contestants visit the corporation’s manufacturing plant.
Last May 24, 2022, the 39 contestants for the upcoming Binibining Pilipinas visited Comestique Asia’s manufacturing plant in Plaridel, Bulacan, in hopes of introducing them to the processes behind the production of the country’s #1 soap, Silka, and further instilling in the queens the advocacy that the corporation, as well as Binibining Pilipinas, stands for. On that sunny Tuesday morning, the contestants arrived at the plant and were met by the intricate and exquisite equipment at the plant, as well as the warm and cheerful greetings of the staff.
Their mornings were further delighted by the welcoming speeches of two of the people at the forefront of Silka: Ms. Eunice Apple De Belen, the Senior Brand Manager, and Engr. Sherwin Vaflor, the Manufacturing Director at the plant. Ms. De Belen and Engr. Vaflor both emphasized the importance of being able to inspire young women with the work that they do–the queens living out the Binibining Pilipinas campaign and the corporation embodying Silka’s message. With this in mind, the queens embark on their journey to learn more about how Silka soaps are packed and manufactured. But, not without a photo first! The Chief Finance Officer, Ms. Juanita Co, and the VP for Finance and Purchasing, Ms. Jane Co, also made an appearance at the plant to welcome the queens and joined them for a photo.
Now, the girls were ready to immerse themselves in the production process of the soaps. After changing into the appropriate outfits to work inside, they were able to experience packing, boxing, and capping the Silka soaps and lotions, as the employees also introduced them to the various equipment and machines that help them with production. The AWRA experience did not end here, as the queens also participated in some games to have some fun and show their competitive side as well, with the winners receiving a bayong, each filled with Silka products. But, it was no worry for the other contestants as everyone was able to go home with a loot bag of Silka products packed in a PR kit and eco bag. The Silka goodies included in this loot bag were, of course, the Silka soap and Body Lotion, as well as the more high-end products such as the Silka Premium Whitening Lotion, Foaming Wash, and Facial Cleanser to complete their beauty routines.
After a long yet fun-filled day, the girls were able to embrace their beauty and awra with Silka, which is the main advocacy of both Binibining Pilipinas and the Cosmetique Asia Corporation. In their second year as collaborators, they both hope to push forth the message of empowering women through creating products that enhance their natural beauty and giving them opportunities to shine through beauty pageants.
Also, a special award will be given to one lucky queen on Coronation Night: Binibining Silka 2022. As Binibining Silka 2022, this queen will be the new face of the Silka brand, as well as receive ₱75,000 in cash and ₱25,000 in Silka products. The press release on the Binibining Pilipinas visit to the Bulacan plant explained the criteria for the award, “One who embodies and exudes the Silka brand of beauty, a true queen inside and out, the one who inspires and radiates “Bagong Araw, Bagong Awra” will be crowned Binibining Silka 2022."
So, don’t forget to tune into the Binibining Pilipinas Coronation Night on July 31, 2022, and support not only the beautiful contestants (with a heart!) who will be competing but also support the message of bringing empowerment and confidence to women that the competition aims to promote.
