Editor Diaries: Here's What I Think of Sofwave Precise
Avignon's premium new treatment for the eye and mouth area is an investment for an overall brighter, lifted face
We're truly living in the golden age of beauty treatments. Gone are the days when we'd have to go under the knife to achieve the enhancements we desire, for beauty technology is advancing at lightning speed—allowing easier, virtually pain-free procedures and treatments that deliver results fast. Whether it be face tightening, lifting, wrinkle-zapping, brightening, smoothening, collagen-inducing treatments, there's now a state-of-the-art machine for that!
One I've tried recently was the Sofwave Precise machine—considered the little sister of the original Sofwave machine. Curious about what this amazing machine can do for your skin? Read on!
What is Sofwave and Sofwave Precise?
Sofwave™ is the latest technology to revitalize the skin through innovative stimulation of the production of new collagen. Sofwave™’s Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology is FDA cleared for lifting the eyebrow, submental and neck and reducing fine lines & wrinkles.
Through Sofwave Precise, Avignon Clinic welcomes clients and skincare enthusiasts to indulge in the gold standard Avignon has established over the years. It is the clinic's consistency in further expanding their reach in the skincare and beauty scene, as well as their commitment to excellence, that proves their drive to encourage a lifestyle that values confidence, empowerment, and strength—a lifestyle that unveils one’s radiating beauty as time goes on.
I've tried Sofwave once before, in early 2022, and it was the first machine that was meant for the bigger parts of the face—the forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck. I loved the results of that treatment so much I was willing to try their new one this time around!
Metro joined the Sofwave Precise launch a couple of months ago, and it was held at Uma Nota in Shangri-La at the Fort, where distinguished guests, media, celebrities and society personalities were present. At the event, ambassadors of Sofwave Precise (Ces Drilon, Pinky Tobiano, and Charmaine Lagman) were introduced, and each one gave her own experience with the treatment, only giving glowing reviews as they, too, glowed before the audience. Finally, the face of Avignon's Sofwave Precise treatment was also revealed and it was none other than the beautiful Julie Anne San Jose.

My Experience
I arrived at the Avignon BGC Clinic one weekday afternoon, was greeted warmly by the staff, and was led into my room at the ground floor. I love that they give the guests a glass of mouthwash before a treatment begins, to ensure that any bacteria is washed away before starting. I changed into my robe and slippers, wore a headband, and was welcomed with delicious refreshments—detox juice, sparkling water, some biscuits, and dried fruit.
Soon after, the doctor entered and gave me a consult. I shared with her my skin concerns, my former experience with Sofwave, and what I was expecting from this treatment. She shared with me that there would possibly be some pain, but I was already aware of this as I've mentioned I've tried the machine before. To be honest though, it was the kind of pain that was tolerable for me, and I consider pricking (I shed tears) way more painful. So if you're the type who has high pain tolerance, then this one will just be a walk in the park for you.
After a basic cleansing facial, the aesthetician applied numbing cream on my eye area—the brow bone, and the bone under the eyes. After about 20 minutes of waiting (I took a nap), we were ready to start. The doctor showed me the handheld piece (it was way smaller than the original) that was to be used on my eye area, and she started with the procedure. The assisting aesthetician applied cooling cream on the area where the compact applicator head was applied, helping it glide on easily. In my opinion, it felt like quick electric waves or "zaps" passing through my bone under the skin, which did give a bit of discomfort but nothing too painful to bear. After about 40 minutes, the whole treatment was done, and I was ready to go. Just a bit of cleaning and some SPF, and I was out of the clinic. There was no redness or bruising or any of the sort, too.
The Verdict
I was told that the peak effects of the treatment would start appearing by the second week after, so I eagerly awaited for it. Today, about a month and a half after my visit, I've started to see that the effects are truly amazing in helping brighten and lift my eye area. Despite days when I couldn't avoid late nights, I still look rested. While I do not recommend sleeping late regularly, there are instances when it can't be avoided, so this treatment really does help keep the haggard appearance at bay. Bright, lifted eyes, brows, and an overall healthier look for the skin—this is the promise of Sofwave Precise.
The clinic recommends getting the treatment once a year, so I'd say it's not a bad investment for anyone who wants to maintain a youthful look with very little effort.
