Here's a Little Expert Help to Advance Your Personal Skincare Efforts

Simple, sustainable, scientifically backed skincare is more accessible than ever, thanks to Galderma Aesthetics' Skin Awareness Month

Taking care of our skin is easier said than done. It’s a constant uphill battle, what with the many lifestyle changes—biological, psychological, environmental, and habitual—we go through each day. Fortunately, there are products, procedures, and board-certified dermatologists to the rescue, but with so much going on in the world of skincare, there’s often far too much to unpack. For this year’s Skin Awareness Month initiatives, Galderma Aesthetics is here to streamline the process for consumers, making skincare simple, sustainable, and scientifically backed.

Launching Restylane Skinboosters with Skin 101

Skincare injectables have been the talk of the town for awhile now, and for good reason, too. We used to be so scared of them thanks to all the filler-related horror stories that once populated the internet—though it’s still better to be safe than sorry—but the newer ones on the market are much safer, less terrifying, and even dermatologically approved. Seen as a low maintenance solution to a high maintenance life, these injectables improve the overall quality of the skin, leaving it healthier, more radiant, and more even-toned over time without the need to go under the knife. Restylane, which is considered an entry level injectable, was designed to closely mimic the kind of hyaluronic acid that the human body produces, and was the first of its kind to be approved by the US FDA.

It is created with two patented technologies, NASHA® and XpresHAn TechnologyTM, which are engineered for precision and structure, and for movement and expression, respectively. In a nutshell, Restylane won’t be the immovable mover that Botox is, but rather, an an enhancer that helps you bring your best face forward, but naturally. As Dr. Jennie Francisco-Diaz, founder and medical director of Skin 101, mentioned at the Restylane launch, “The stigma surrounding injectables has significantly lessened. There are now minimally invasive injectables, downtime is almost next to nothing, and the benefits far outweigh any downsides.”

And speaking of Skin 101, they are Galderma Injectable Aesthetics’ partner in bringing Restylane to the Philippine market. “If you look at Skin 101’s vision of treating patients according to their individual needs and Galderma’s vision of enhancing skin health and beauty at every life stage, it aligns perfectly,” shared Galderma General Manager Ferdinand Roxas.

Here are some notes from the consulting dermatologists—Dr. Coreen Copuyoc, Dr. Erika Akiat, Dr. Bea Chan, and Dr. Jennie Francisco-Diaz—that you may want to take note of, lifted straight from the guide:

  • Sun Protection. Never skip sunscreen, even on cloudy days, as UV radiation can penetrate clouds and cause skin damage.
  • Patience and Regularity. Results from brightening products take time and regular application. Expect to see visible changes in about four weeks of consistent use.
  • Avoid Popping Pimples. As tempting as it might be, popping pimples can push bacteria deeper into the skin, leading to more inflammation and even scars.
  • Patch Test New Products. Before using a new product over large areas, do a patch test to ensure it doesn’t cause irritation.

Happy Skin Awareness Month!
