You Have to Visit This New Luxury Korean Beauty Clinic

Heading the clinic is Dr. Young Cho—a highly-respected South Korean dermatologist who has stayed in the Philippines for over a year. He wants to essentially “bring a touch of Seoul to Manila” and top priority is to learn what Filipinos’ most in demand procedures are and introduce some of the procedures that are popular in Korea and marry the two. They have a range of services that include skin toning and rejuvenation, skin brightening, skin boosters, HIFU Laser, Fillers, Botox, and others.

So Metro.Style headed to the clinic to see what the new Korean aesthetic clinic was all about.

The Consult

First off, they JANUS Pro, their #3D Skin Analysis machine that will give you an in-depth overview of your skin’s current condition. You’ll be able to see your skin type, areas that need improvement, and a quick recommendation from the data given. Next up, you’ll go two floors up where Dr. Cho himself will consult with you. He’ll thoroughly explain all the conclusions gathered from the data and will then give you the recommended treatment that can improve your skin.

For me, Dr. Cho recommended the Shurink procedure, a new laser treatment that can help to lift and rejuvenate the face. I honestly did not expect this diagnosis because I didn’t have any glaring skin problems but that’s what’s great about having a skin analysis– it sees underlying problems that may not be so visible to the naked eye. I realized that as early as 27, signs of aging can start to show so we wanted to make sure to do preventative measures and ensure my skin was as healthy and in tip top shape as it could be.

The treatment uses a high-intensity laser to stimulate the production of collagen by penetrating deep into the skin and causing the body to produce new collagen fibers that help support the skin. It reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and also helps improve the overall texture and tone of the skin.

The Procedure

Shurink is pretty straightforward and non-invasive so not a lot of prep work is needed. The medical personnel just puts EMLA all over your face and leaves it on for 30 minutes to numb those areas. Then, you go straight to one of their treatment rooms where the treatment will be done. It only takes around 30 minutes and they even give you a bear to hold during the procedure!

Even with the numbing cream, I can tell you now that you can still expect a little bit of pain. But of course, you can always let your doctor know if you need breaks in between. After that, they put a serum on you and put you under a red light for 15 minutes. There will be a little redness and swelling but you’ll see some positive results immediately. And those results will only progress as time passes so that glow and lift won’t be just a one-day pass. 

Ideally, you’ll need at least three sessions to see some drastic change but every session gets better than the last. Even after just one session, you’ll get rejuvenated, lifted skin, and some improvements in texture as well.
