These Ultra Pure High-Potency Serums Are Derived from the Cleanest of Formulas
Nothing too complex here. Just simple, fast-acting, highly efficacious skincare solutions consisting of 10 ingredients or less.
Science-based research. Clinically tested by experts. Targeted solutions for every skincare need. These are just some of the factors we take into consideration when we shop for new products to add to our skincare regimens. Of course, we want to know what goes into the formula before it goes on our skin, so we flip the packaging over to check the ingredients list. Often, there’s a litany of terms we don’t have a full understanding of, and that’s where it can get intimidating.
The new Kiehl’s line of Ultra Pure High-Potency Serums posits the efficacy of minimalist formulas—the golden rule is 10 ingredients or less—minus the rocket science. There are three new formulations in the line, each offering a fast-acting, targeted solution to the most common skincare concerns.
Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High-Potency Serum 5% Niacinamide: Oil Minimizing
This formulation help minimize excess oil and serum, and soothes visible redness while reducing blemishes and other imperfections. An instrumental test on 50 subjects reported excess oil reduction of 58%.
Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High-Potency Serum 9.8% Glycolic Acid: Texture-Smoothing
Glycolic acid is a hero ingredient derived from sugarcane that exfoliates dead skin cells, revealing brighter, more even skin. This may trigger some skin sensitivity during the day, so layering on with sunscreen is a must. It is recommended to use 1-2x a week at night, and not in conjunction with ingredients such as retinol and vitamin C.
Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High-Potency Serum 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid: Moisture-Plumping
Hyaluronic acid provides deep hydration to the skin, leaving it more plump and supple. Naturally present in the body, this humectant helps skin maintain its ability to hold water.
Any of these three serums can be applied daily after cleansing and toning, and right before moisturizer and sunscreen. They can also be layered in varying combinations to better target specific problems.
- To smoothen skin texture: Glycolic Acid + Hyaluronic Acid
- To reduce oil and blemishes: Niacinamide + Glycolic Acid
- To balance combination-type skin: Niacinamide + Hyaluronic Acid
