Last November 24, Metro flew to Seoul to join Merz Aesthetics as they unveiled their star-studded line-up of celebrity ambassadors for Ultherapy. Hallyu superstar and K-drama heartthrob Lee Min Ho was among three South Korean actors introduced as the first ever Asia Pacific celebrity ambassadors.

As a face of Merz Aesthetics' See My Skin, Lift My Way campaign, Lee Min Ho sat down with media from the APAC region to talk about confidence and self-care. The Boys Over Flowers star got candid about the pressure of conforming to beauty standards as someone in the spotlight, staying confident and taking care of yourself throughout it all. The campaign, which empowers people to discover, enhance, and embrace their own unique definitions of beauty and be the best versions of themselves, is one that resonated with the Pachinko actor because he believes there is nothing more beautiful than embracing your natural beauty and unlocking your confidence.

'I think Ultherapy is about natural beauty, and I'm really pleased to be part of the brand. Times have changed. It's not just the women, but men are also taking care of themselves. The population is aging around the world. With Ultherapy, you can take care of yourself and look ten to fifteen years younger,' he said.

There is undoubtedly an unrealistic standard of beauty in society, one that puts pressure on looking youthful, and this standard affects not only women but men, too. The Ultherapy ambassador shared that while he might not be the most diligent in taking care of his skin, he focuses on cleansing and moisturizing skincare.

To those who feel less confident about their appearance and aging, Lee Min Ho shared: 'The society has set a standard of beauty, like a frame, but we should not be restrained by it. Everyone has their own beauty and we should not be stuck in the frame. I think we have to discover our inner beauty and uniqueness. This effort will help us recover our confidence.'

When asked on when he feels most confident, Lee Min Ho shared that he feels the most confident when he realizes he is loved by other people. 'My career puts me in front of people, who are watching everything I do. When I am loved by them and when they like my performance in my shows, for projects I worked very hard on like Pachinko. I feel confident and I try harder. Just like today, when everyone welcomed me to the stage, I feel confident.'

1. Confidence is beautiful.

Feeling beautiful is simple: be confident. 'Everyone is precious and beautiful. Love yourself first so that it will boost your confidence so that you can love other people,' Lee Mi Ho remarked. It boils down to knowing how to love yourself, and actually loving yourself, as the starting point to being able to love others and be confident. It's also finding that unique attractiveness and beauty that you have, and embracing it.

2. For good skin and physique, balance is key.

From endless days of shoots to events and red carpets, Lee Min Ho is very busy but he takes the time to take proper care of himself. Balance is key. 'I eat well, sleep well, and have a moderate amount of exercise,' he revealed. He also gets a lot of vitality and energy from the work he does, and this helps him a lot.

3. Discover and cultivate your own beauty and uniqueness.

For Lee Min Ho, there's nothing that compares to natural beauty and encourages everyone to let your true inner beauty out, allow it to shine through. 'Beauty is not artificial. It is natural. Just like the great outdoors. As I watch the scenery, I'm impressed and touched by the beauty of nature. Everyone has their unique beauty and when they express it, that's beauty that shines,' he said.
