This Is The Latest Way You Can Get Rid Of Wrinkles, STAT!
Looking our best and looking our most natural often go hand in hand as society’s current obsession with youth and (its correlation to) beauty reaching unprecedented heights in the past years. Whether one is ready or not, getting older means the slow creep of fine lines and wrinkles, and skin becoming more sallow, sunken and saggy. The solution of decades past for this has always been quite risky: facial reconstruction and lifting surgery with long down time and healing, permanent filler injections with silicone, and the list goes on.
Here’s some good news. Thanks to science and technological advancements, there is so much you can do with very minimal risk and come out more affordable too. There is a definite change in the way we age with a happy proliferation of noninvasive cosmetic procedures which include state-of-the-art lasers, fillers, and resurfacing treatments that promise (and more importantly, deliver) subtle but evident effects, sans scalpel and potential danger. One of the many more popular treatments from the lot? Definitely Botulinum toxin, offered in the form of several options on the market and most recently in Xeomin.
Botulinum toxin needs little to no introduction, with many of the leading men and women both in Hollywood and in our local entertainment industry making use of this injectable for years, not just for its anti-aging effect but to achieve a slimmer face, lift the nose, and accentuate jawlines, among others.
But what makes Xeomin better, and an option you could definitely consider? Xeomin is “the only pure anti-wrinkle injectable,” says Dr. Jennie Francisco-Diaz of Skin 101. “It is ‘pure’ because it has been stripped away from unnecessary complexing proteins, which decreases the chance of one becoming immune [to the effects.] It is used to prevent lines from deepening and making it static.” She adds that the ideal areas to treat are the lines in the glabella, crow’s feet, and forehead for aging, and masseter (jowls) for slimming the face. Xeomin has zero downtime and a fast onset of 2-3 days. (Read: See results of a naturally more rested/relaxed look in even less time!) If that wasn’t enough, Xeomin has been clinically proven and tested to last longer than its other Botulinum toxin counterparts, lasting 4-5 months depending on the patient!
“Xeomin is injected using a very tiny needle, barely felt when you apply anesthesia. It is surprisingly comfortable so the results that last up to five months far outweigh any treatment discomfort,” explains Dr. Jennie. “Botulinium toxin injections are life-changing and can soften your wrinkles and make you look young, more relaxed, with a single 10-minute procedure. Our patients at Skin 101 love the effects of Xeomin. It’s a safe, quick procedure that people can incorporate into their busy schedules. There is no other treatment option that can give such dramatic results in a single 10-minute session. A younger you in just a few minutes—that’s the magic of Xeomin.”
Your Best Face Yet
Get your slimmest, most perfect face without going under the knife through combining Xeomin with other noninvasive treatments. “You can actually achieve your slimmest face if you combine Xeomin (for fine lines) with Ultherapy (for sagging),” says Dr. Jennie. “You [would] have a nicer angle in your jaw, so your selfies are better. You can actually improve your angle through Xeomin.” She adds that doing Belotero (which replaces fat) for the cheeks, gives the face a better profile and a lift. Belotero is the only high-quality range of hyaluronic acid filler that optimally integrates into the skin’s tissue to provide natural looking results by being made of the same volumizing and moisturizing component of your skin, making it a natural solution for smoothening wrinkles and lines, restoring facial volume, and for enhancing one’s own features. “If you do all three, you can actually make a person look younger and make her look that way, naturally,” Dr. Jennie grins excitedly.
And there’s so much to be excited about when it comes to Xeomin beyond the cosmetic. Apart from working its magic in lifting, slimming and tightening, it also has other uses that could surprise some. We ask Dr. Jennie for some examples.
- Square Jaw: “Botulinum toxin can be used to treat square jaw effectively by giving the patient a slimmer ‘V-shaped’ face when it is injected in the masseter muscle. This can also help with excessive teeth grinding when you are sleeping.
- Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating): “When injected in the underarms, palms and soles of the feet, Xeomin can treat excessive sweating—something we Filipinos living in a tropical country can truly benefit from!”
- Chronic Migraines: Thanks to Botulinum toxin’s dynamic properties, “Xeomin can also be a very effective to treat migraines!”
Xeomin promises to be more versatile, more effective, than other alternatives in the market, and has a multitude of other uses apart from solely beauty. Want to know more? Do your research and seek out a board-certified dermatologist for a consultation.
