Social networking app Bumble’s recent official launch in the Philippines is more than just an arrival of a new digital platform, it’s an empowering call for women to make the first move.

And so we decided to really look into it, hone in on this country, and make this our first step into Southeast Asia,” shared Michelle Battersby, associate marketing director of Bumble APAC.

This observation was echoed by Alex Suarez, country lead of Bumble Philippines. “One of the reasons we feel that Bumble is such a great fit for the Philippines is that Filipinas are already, in a sense, empowered. They have a huge say whether it’s at home or at work. I think what’s most exciting about bringing Bumble here is that it’s such a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Filipinas and all the amazing things they have accomplished whether it’s in work, in life, the arts or whatever field that is,” Suarez said.
