Sun Life Asset Management's Investment Forum Focuses On Achieving Long Term Goals
In these days of financial uncertainties, with the local markets in the doldrums, there was something timely and foresightful about the Sun Life Asset Management Company holding an investment forum, entitled Achieving Long Term Goals. In our conversation with Valerie Pama, President of Sun Life Asset Management, she readily accepted that today’s financial climate is such that one really has to set his or her sights on longer term possibilities, and that’s where institutions such as Sun Life can play a major role in weathering the current situation.
Held at the Shang BGC, the forum consisted of a number of speakers, a networking session, an open forum discussion, and the inevitable Raffle. Sun Life’s new Philippine Country Head & CEO Benedict Sison was on hand to welcome the participants and show support to their Asset Management Group.
Setting the tone, the first talk was Achieving Long Term Goals, and the speakers were Adam Brewer, South East Asia Head, Diageo Prestige Sales, and Marc Tagle, Chairman & President, Aston Martin Manila. This was followed by Supreet Bhan, Head of South East Asia Funds and Institutional at JP Morgan discussing Asset Allocation.
Talking heads from Sun Life then took the stage; Michael Enriquez, Chief Investments Officer of Sun Life Asset Management on the House View of the Markets, and Maria Charina Fuentes, Strategic Development Head on Achiever Funds Preview. A panel discussion ensued, with Closing Remarks courtesy of Valerie Pama.
The takeaway from the event was that Sun Life was taking the proverbial bull by its horns, and showing it could lead the way in helping us make strategic decisions about our investments, and long term goals. The diversity of products they have to offer, the sophistication of their forecasting and analysis, the global perspective they possess—these all add up how a sense of security and trust can still be fostered in times such as these.
