Movie Review: Reminders of Him

After serving a prison sentence for the tragic accident that killed the love of her life, <strong>Scotty Landry</strong> (<strong>Rudy Pankow</strong>), Kenna returns to the town that has collectively cast her as its villain. </p><p>Now a ghost in her own story, she haunts the edges of a life she no longer owns, with one desperate pursuit: to be with her daughter she’s never held, who’s now under the gatekept custody of Scotty’s grieving parents.</p><p>But the gates to her past are guarded by <strong>Ledger Ward</strong> (<strong>Tyriq Withers</strong>), Scotty’s best friend and the current local hero who owns the neighborhood dive bar. Ledger is the one person Kenna should avoid, yet the only person who truly sees her. It handles its heavy plot points with a certain light, feel-good touch that softens the blow. The conflict comes off on low simmer instead of raw, jagged grit. It turns out to be the kind of drama that’s easy on the eyes and the heart.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1773933959859ROH_1(2).png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>The soundtrack </strong></div><p>The visual direction leans into a music video-esque vibe, and we are absolutely living for the slow-motion sequences. First, the stray kitten Kenna brings home to her dingy motel room is a whole mood (plus, it&#x27;s her only companion in a town that hates her). Next is <strong>Diem</strong> (<strong>Zoe Kosovic</strong>), who’s just pure sunshine and an adorable kid. </p><p>And of course, <strong>Monika Myers,</strong> who stars as <strong>Lady Diana</strong>, the sassy neighbor with Down Syndrome. She is a total icon with elite comedic timing, popping up to roast Ledger at the perfect moments.
