Big Bad Wolf Returns To Manila This Month With 17,000 New Titles In Tow
Collected books from their donation drive will be handed over to communities affected by the recent Taal Volcano eruption
For the third consecutive year, the world’s biggest book sale is coming to Manila, bringing with it 17,000 new titles! Settling in at the World Trade Center in Pasay for 11 days, Big Bad Wolf is the sale that book lovers anticipate the most every year since it arrived in the Philippines in 2018. Just like its past runs, the book sale will be open for 24 hours with more than 2 million English titles available at 50%–90% off. There are even bigger markdowns, with books going as low as P60.
Big Bad Wolf has visited several cities across the country, including Cebu, Davao, Pampanga, and Manila. Readers can enjoy books on books on books, with a wide selection of genres, from thrillers, YA fiction, romance, self-help, architecture, graphic novels, and more. Of course, expect to see children’s books as well, including new titles of Magical Books, a series that incorporates AR technology into books. Twelve new titles will be available, including Frozen: A Sleepover Party and Winnie the Pooh: Fun with First Words.
More than being a book sale, however, Big Bad Wolf is, most of all, an advocacy. It aims to make reading more accessible. Through its corporate social responsibility arm, Red Readerhood, the organization has partnered with Gawad Galinga. Customers are encouraged to donate books at the Red Readerhood booth, as the collected books will be distributed to communities, barangays, and public schools in Mindoro as well as affected communities of the Taal Volcano eruption in Batangas.
Big Bad Wolf 2020 opens on February 14 and will run until February 24 at the World Trade Center in Pasay. Entry to the book sale is free.
