An Anchor Planted In ArcoVia C5

Whenever a new mixed-use development is planned, and launched, it’s always essential to have anchor Retail concepts to bring the crowds to your place, and play a role in encouraging locators and homeowners to make that decision and invest, move in, and/or work in your location. On E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C5); I’ve been witness to the manner in which Megaworld successfully kicked off, and then sustained their Eastwood township - such that it takes an effort to remember back to that time when it was a fledgling development.

And now, also on E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C5); if coming from Makati, right after Lanuza Ave, and on the right side, stands Megaworld‘s ArcoVia City. Given Megaworld’s track record, I have no doubt how this new development will flourish; but as it’s early days, Megaworld couldn’t have done better than to have Landers open at ArcoVia and be the first establishment of its category opening on C5. I was lucky to be invited to the special preview and ribbon-cutting last Saturday morning; and judging from the excited crowd assembled, this will be still another fabled Landers location.

Just a month ago, Landers opened the doors of their Daang Hari, West Alabang location; and from the eye-witness reports I’ve been getting, its immediately become a constant favorite of the South crowd. It’s caused mini-traffic jams on the weekend, and Landers Chairman Atty. Lowell Yu, was happy to report that there are ongoing plans to widen the access roads to and from Landers. It’s been the proverbial ‘good problem’, as they had not anticipated how popular Landers would immediately be.

ArcoVia promises to be a very interesting proposition. It’s not as big as Eastwood; but there’s a modern, upscale vibe to the area. And now that Landers has arrived as an anchor establishment, I would be curious to watch as the Restaurants and Retail concepts sprout and bring added life to the area. For now, the Landers experience beckons, and I’m sure the Valle Verde, Green Meadows, Grove, and Pasig residents are ready to respond.

Beyond the merchandise found within the Landers aisles, I’ve always found their Caltex tie-up a godsend, where Landers card holders enjoy significant discounts as they make their Landers excursion also the time to fill up their tanks.
