Ayala Land And Walt Disney Reimagine Magic With 'A Festival Of Lights'
On the occasion of their 30th year as a company, Ayala Land partners with Disney to bring us its 10th edition of their annual Christmas celebration, A Festival of Lights. While each year has always been a case of creating something bigger, better and brighter, and has become something of a Christmas tradition for so many; this year’s edition is the first time that Ayala Land will be partnering with Disney to offer something truly magical.
On the afternoon of the media launch, Disney Philippines’ Country Head, Veronica Cabalinan, was happy to share that, “By weaving our well-loved soundtracks to Ayala Land’s festivities, we hope to bring magical moments to families and Disney fans of all ages. This forms part of our commitment to build lasting memories and powerful connections with Filipinos.”
On behalf of Ayala Land, Manny Blas concurred, “This reaffirms our commitment to evolve and innovate constantly; our way of giving back to the community.” And Manny announced how the Festival of Lights would kick off on November 9th at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati and at Ayala Malls Centrio, Cagayan de Oro. On the 10th of November, Ayala Center Cebu would join in, while the 15th would see the Festival at Bonifacio High Street, BGC. November 24 is the red (and green) letter day for Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and lastly, the Festival of Lights touches down at Vertis North, Quezon City on the 29th.
When Voltaire would get ready for previous editions of the Festival, he would visit Hong Kong Disneyland and find inspiration from the presentations there, how music and lights would converge to create something magical. Well, responsible for the music on several occasions that Voltaire would be at Hong Kong Disney was Rony! And Rony, when here in Manila during the Christmas season would be impressed by the lighting displays that Ayala Land would put up - and that’s Voltaire taking the credit. It was wonderful serendipity to have them finally joining forces on one project.

And to whet our appetites for what will be unveiled on the 9th, snippets of the music Rony had created were played for us at Flavours, Holiday Inn, Makati. There was a Princess medley, one inspired by Frozen, and of course, one that brought together iconic songs & music associated with Mickey Mouse. As Issa was quick to reflect, the music was exhilarating, bringing out the child in each of us, causing us to involuntarily smile.
So there’s much to look forward to this Christmas at the selected Ayala Land location, as not only Christmas, but Disney as well, will be in the air!
