Vista by Ryan Villamael, opening today 1/14
Culled from the artist's Vista series, which he began while in lockdown, these delicate pieces depict a world beyond an enclosed space, beyond restriction. Moved by his surrounding environment – including Laguna de Bay, the Philippines' largest lake – Villamael reacquainted himself with painting, a medium he has eluded since youth, to transport his viewer through a string of evocative landscapes. Considered Gestures, live until 2/6
Considered Gestures forges a partnership between the modern and the contemporary by featuring eight artists from two distinct generations. When viewed together in a single setting, this non-figurative collection illustrates the homogeneity of the abstract genre and informs one of its ever-evolving spirit.
(G)I-DLE’s new album, released this Monday 1/11
Last Monday, K-pop group G(I)-DLE released a new mini album, 'I burn.' As the group’s most fully realized conceptual effort to date, 'I burn' examines the emotional rollercoaster of a breakup, distilling all of the ups and downs into a genre-busting artistic statement.
