Metro Weekend Guide: Where To Go And What To Do This March 8-10, 2019

If you haven't yet made plans for this weekend, here's a list of exciting events to go to!

 

1. Check out the #MetroMostStylish2019 exhibit

Mid-level 2/3, East Atrium Shangri-La Plaza

See the photo exhibit of the top 10 ladies of Metro Most Stylish 2019! The exhibit runs till March 12.

2. Catch Captain Marvel in cinemas.

The latest movie from Marvel currently in theaters tells the origin story of one of the universe’s most powerful heroes, portrayed by Brie Larson. A must-see before watching the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame in theaters next month.

3. Have fun at Wanderland Music & Arts Festival.

Filinvest City Events Grounds, Alabang

In its seventh year, Wonderland is back with a 2-day live art and music festival headlined by Two Door Cinema Club and The Kooks. Tickets still available at wanderlandfestival.com.

4. Check out "When Does the Dancer Become the Dance."

Artinformal, 277 Connecticut St, Greenhills

Curated by Tony Godfrey, the exhibit explores the relationship between dance and visual art. Featuring works by Felix Bacolor, Dharma Bum, Jo Fong, Heloise Godfrey, Eisa Jocson, Pow Martinez, Alwin Reamillo, Jan de Bry. Opening reception is at 6pm on March 9th. 5. Don't miss "Noli Me Tangere, The Opera!"

Cultural Center of the Philippines, CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City

Based on the great novel by national hero Jose Rizal, the opera written by the late National Artist for Music Felipe de Leon and Guillermo Tolentino will be performed by original and new cast members, directed by internationally renowned New York-based Filipino designer Jerry Sibal. 6. Party with Rita Ora in Manila.

New Frontier Theater, 7 General Malavar Ave, Cubao, Quezon City

British artist Rita Ora will be performing live in Manila for the first time on March 10th, as a part of her "Phoenix" world tour. Tickets available on ticketnet.com.ph.

 

 

 

7. Plan your itinerary in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan at the Klook Travel Fest.

SMX Aura Convention Center, Halls 1-3 

The Klook Travel Fest, the only mobile-led experiential travel festival in the Philippines, is now on its second year, launched just in time for the upcoming cherry blossom and early summer peak period. Scheduled to take place on March 9-10, 2019, the event is open from 9:00AM to 9:00PM on Saturday (Day 1) with exclusive access to BDO cardholders and PLDT Home subscribers from 9-11AM, and from 11:00AM to 9:00PM on Sunday (Day 2).

Dubbed as the "Blossom Deals," the travel fest offers a variety of customizable experiences in key destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. 

Klook also partnered with personalities to share practical travel tips and tricks to event attendees: Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo (March 9, 4:00PM to 4:30PM) will talk about traveling with kids, Janina Manipol and Cha Ocampo (March 10, 1:00PM to 1:30PM) will share travel tips for female adventurers like them, Dani Barretto and Bela Padilla (March 10, 2:00PM to 2:30PM) will share stories about them being travel buddies, and siblings Laureen, Liz, and Vince (March 10, 3:00 to 3:30PM) will give advice on how to travel in style.
