Regine Velasquez For 'By Request: A Benefit Concert'

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid headlines this special concert series. For 10 straight nights, your favorite Kapamilya performers will go live to raise funds for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Odette starting this January 9. Kicking off the festival is Regine Velasquez-Alcasid who shares her thoughts about helping out

In the midst of the pandemic, Regine Valesquez-Alcasid hopes that her voice can serve as inspiration and reminder for many to “not lose hope.” She kicks off a 10-day event entitled By Request: A Benefit Concert, which will feature Kapamilya performers in live performances as a way to raise funds for the benefit of the the victims of Typhoon Odette via Tulong-tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Andito Tayo Para sa Isa’t Isa Operation Odette.

She hope to convey her message of hope to all those affected by Odette.

“Hang on, keep praying. Don’t lose hope. Help will come. God is there,” says Regine.

“Minsan, hindi mo lang napapansin na nadyan na sya. Na may pinagplano na pala sya. He will always come at the nick of time. Help is on the way,” she adds.

“Kaya natin ito. Mara na tayong pinag-daanan, kaya natin ito.”

At the same time, she also has a message for all those who would be watching her live show.

“Tayo naman na hindi masyadong naapektuhan, gawin natin ang makakaya nating gawin para makatulong,” she adds.

While she would be accepting requests that night, there is a song close to her heart that she wanted to dedicate to everyone—‘Di Ka Nag-iisa. The song is currently the new themesong of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The song is about perseverance and hope, a message that we could all use right now.

“Hindi ka nag-iisa. Walang nag-iisa. Lagi tayong may Diyos na dadamay sa atin. God is always faithful to us. And he will always give us an angel, or binibigyan nya tayo parati ng makakasama sa ibang form—pwedeng kaibigan, asawa, nanay, tatay, even pets. Alam mo yun, basta hindi tayo nag-iisa, he would always make us feel that you’re not alone in whatever trials na pinagdadaanan natin. You are never alone. God is always there, and he is going through it with us. You just really have to have faith.”
