The Ultimate Uratex Slumber Party
Luxurious, comfortable, restful sleep - that is something we hope for and dream of practically every day! For recharging, for restoring, for maintaining our life balance and sanity; there’s nothing like peaceful slumber to do the trick. And when it comes to Philippine-made luxury mattresses, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Kaye Tinga were proud to share that Uratex Premium holds the key to Sleep Nirvana. So proud, that Tessa opted to open the doors of her home and create a late afternoon Uratex Premium Slumber Party for her friends, and the Media. Special co-host during the event was the founder of the 50-year old company, Multiflex/Uratex, Mrs. Natividad Cheng.

In fact, Mrs. Naty Cheng flies to Montecarlo in June as the official Philippine representative to the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. And a more engaging, charming, down-to-earth businesswoman would be hard to find. That this Slumber-Tea Party was being held on World Sleep Day only added to the significance of what turned out to be a truly fun late afternoon and evening.
Two high end bedroom displays were mounted within Tessa’s abode - the one standout being the one placed in the middle of her swimming pool. Made with the latest sleep-science technology, and the finest fabric for a comfortable feel, guests were visibly surprised to learn such quality mattresses and pillows were being made here in the Philippines, as this is a market niche predisposed to think in terms of luxury foreign brands.

The Premium Touch Sublime, the Senso Memory Ultima, and the Orthocare Harmony mattresses were just three of the Uratex Premium mattresses put on display. These include foam mattresses treated to protect effectively against bacteria, door, mildew and dust mites. Others are made with a fabric that produces a cooling effect - especially appropriate in a tropical clime such as ours.
How many women of style and substance can fit on one Uratex Senso Memory mattress?
There may not have been much of actual sleeping during the event, as the storytelling, laughter, good food and drink made sure no one was nodding off. But thanks to this World Sleep Day slumber party, a new awareness was fostered on how Filipino entrepreneurs are creating world quality products in categories once thought of as the exclusive domain of long-established foreign brands. We can only wish Mrs. Naty Cheng good fortune when she represents the Philippines in Montecarlo this June.
