This year, we’re so taken by every Filipino’s favorite American Idol alum, David Archuleta, that his new Christmas album is currently on repeat! He held a Christmas charity concert together with Mabuhay Deseret Foundation to provide free surgeries to correct conditions such as cataracts, cleft lip, and clubfoot last November, where the 27-year-old charmer performed his new hits he made especially for Christmastime. If you want new tracks to play come Christmas day as guests fill your house to celebrate this joyful season, here are David’s personal picks from the Winter in the Air album – and whether you’re an old fan or not, these three songs will surely be your next favorites.

1. Christmas Everyday. As someone who writes more about serious things, David admits that this song is a challenge to create. “I wanted to push myself because I don’t usually sing happy, bouncy songs,” he admits. He wanted to write a classic Christmas song – and one day, the melody just came through his mind and, voila, the finished product. I usually write more serious things. And I was like I wanna write a classic Christmas song. The singer/songwriter describes it as, “kind of about what makes Christmas fun and happy.”

2. He Is Born. Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ, after all, so David penned this single to give his testimony of Christ and his birth with a Nashville-, old Christian-type vibe. “Its very special, that’s actually my favorite song in the new album,” he says.

3. Winter In The Air. A fact we must face whenever the season rolls in is how snow won’t ever happen in the country. But give Winter in the Air a spin and be easily transported to winter wonderland. “I wanted to capture that in a song – feeling the cold, crisp, dry air, the quietness, all the things that will make you think, ‘ah, this is a beautiful moment,’” David shares.
