The Greta Gerwig-directed film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, opens in Philippine cinemas July 19.

In the American fantasy comedy film Barbie, Barbie is expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect doll. With Ken by her side, she makes her way to the real world to find the true meaning of happiness. 

Barbie also stars America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans, Jamie Demetriou, Connor Swindells, Sharon Rooney, Nicola Coughlin, and Oscar-winner Helen Mirren.

The movie is from a screenplay by Gerwig & Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach, based on Barbie by Mattel. The film’s producers are Oscar nominee David Heyman, Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Robbie Brenner, with Michael Sharp, Josey McNamara, Ynon Kreiz, Courtenay Valenti, Toby Emmerich, and Cate Adams serving as executive producers.
