The Latest Whistledown Is Out—'Bridgerton' Has Been Renewed For a Second Season
Production is set to return this coming spring, with the new season focusing on Anthony Bridgerton
Bridgerton is coming back!
The instantly-popular Netflix series based on the bestselling novels by Julia Quinn has been renewed for a second season. Released on December 25 last year, Bridgerton follows the eponymous family, focusing on the eldest daughter, Daphne, in its freshman year.
In season two, Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, is set to be the focus, as each of the novels center on one Bridgerton child per book.
Season two of Bridgerton will start filming this coming spring. According to a report by Deadline, casting is "currently underway for several new roles," including the female romantic lead opposite Anthony Bridgerton in The Viscount Who Loved Me, Kate Sheffield.
Showrunner Chris Van Dusen also "hopes" that Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor reprise their roles as Simon, Duke of Hastings and Daphne Bridgerton. "They are now of course the Duke and Duchess of Hastings but in my mind they will always be Bridgertons and I think they will always be part of the show," he said.
Are you as excited as we are about the renewal? I, personally, cannot wait for the season focusing on my favorite—and the best—Bridgerton sibling, Eloise.
