Celebrating Filipino Artistic Excellence in Film

Ayala Malls BRAVO! Filipino Presents the 19th Cinemalaya Film Festival, Empowering Filipino Filmmakers

Ayala Malls, a stalwart in promoting Filipino culture and heritage through its advocacy campaign "BRAVO! Filipino," proudly announces its partnership with the 19th Cinemalaya Film Festival. From August 5 to 13, Ayala Malls will showcase the complete lineup of full-length and short films, making this celebration of artistic brilliance accessible to a broader audience.

Conceived by Ayala Chairman Emeritus Jaime Zobel de Ayala in 2008, 'BRAVO! Filipino' is an Ayala Malls initiative that celebrates the country's art, food, fashion, and style, aiming to unearth and honor the wealth of untapped world-class talent within the Philippines. After its relaunch at the Ternocon III exhibit and subsequent staging of The American Ballet Theatre Studio Company (ABT) with Cecile Licad’s performance at Ayala Center Cebu and Ayala Malls Abreeza, Ayala Malls’ 'BRAVO! Filipino' once again empowers artists on their journey towards international recognition.

As part of "BRAVO! Filipino," Ayala Malls proudly celebrates the art of filmmaking by hosting the prestigious Cinemalaya 2023 in its cinemas. To open the festival’s run in Ayala Malls, Dolly De Leon—the first Filipina actress to receive nominations in both BAFTA and Golden Globes—makes an appearance in Ayala Malls Manila Bay on August 5 to promote her film “Iti Mapupukaw” (The Missing). The film is also the first full-length animated film to ever make the Cinemayala festival.

Additionally, the participation of Dolly de Leon during the festival's opening day further underscores the excellence of Filipina talent in the global film industry.
