Here’s Your First Look at ‘Sweet & Sour’

The romcom starring Jang Ki-yong, Chae Soo-bin, and Krystal Jung encapsulates all the feelings of love in one refreshing, realistic love story!

Whatever mood we're in, we always love a good romcom! That's why we're getting really excited about upcoming Netflix original film Sweet & Sour, a refreshingly realistic romantic comedy coming this June. The film depicts both the saccharine times of being blissfully in love as well as the acidic moments when facing bumps in a relationship.

Jang Ki-yong, whose steady rise to fame across genres began with roles in Search WWW, The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos, and this May’s My Roommate is a Gumiho, portrays very “real guy” boyfriend Jang Hyeok. His unfiltered portrayal of the realistic boyfriend will quicken viewers’ pulse with infatuation and rage as he gradually transforms from a sweet guy, in the beginning of the relationship, to an unresponsive one.

Jang Hyeok’s lovely girlfriend Da-eun is played by Chae Soo-bin, who established herself as a major next-gen rom-com star through roles in I'm Not a Robot, Where Stars Land, and A Piece of Your Mind. Many young viewers will relate to her character Da-eun, who is frustrated with both her job as a nurse and her love life.

Jang Hyeok and Jung Da-eun face lots of challenges when they become a long-distance couple when Jang Hyeok gets a new job opportunity. We'll be seeing their once sweet relationship change as the distance impacts them in more ways than one.

Bo-yeong, the woman whom Jang Hyeok meets through his job assignment with his big name corporate employer, is played by Krystal Jung (Search, Prison Playbook, My Lovely Girl). Demonstrating a different kind of charm than her usual chic image, Jung shapes Bo-yeong into an interesting character in a love-hate relationship with Jang Hyeok while they collaborate and compete for the same permanent position at the corporation.

We're particularly excited to see Director Lee Gae-byok’s fresh and funny take on this realistic love story, which is further enhanced by the chemistry among actors Jang Ki-yong, Chae Soo-bin, and Krystal Jung!

Sweet & Sour premieres on June 4 at 3PM PHT on Netflix. Will you be watching?
