‘How To Move On in 30 Days’ Is ABS-CBN’s First YouTube Exclusive Series

The romcom series, streaming this April 4, features the fresh new tandem of Maris Racal and Carlo Aquino

After recent turns in The Kangks Show and Noringai’s The Goodbye Girl, Maris Racal is taking on another role: as Jen Agbisit in How to Move On in 30 Days, Maris plays a heartbroken talent handler in the time of social media.

Jen attempts move on from her longtime boyfriend and now-ex Jake (played by Albie Casiño) with the Break App, a navigation app that will give her a step-by-step guide on how to move on within a specified amount of time. (In her case, 30 days.)

When she is assigned to be Jake’s handler and tasked to accompany him on an out-of-town trip, she bumps into a charming surfer named Franco Sibayan (played by Carlo Aquino), who also doubles as a professional boyfriend-for-her. “Can you be my boyfriend?” Jen asks Franco in the series’ trailer, pleading eyes and all.

In keeping with the show’s theme, at yesterday’s media conference for the series, Maris talked about how she herself moves on in the event of a breakup. (No need for it recently, though, as the 24-year-old actress has been going steady with her beau and her The Goodbye Girl costar, musician Rico Blanco.)

“Since sobrang intense ng emotions, gina-grab ko ‘yung opportunity na ‘yun para magsulat,” Maris said. “D’un po ‘yung time na sinusulat ko ‘yung songs na sad, ‘yun ‘yung release ko kasi ‘yun ‘yung outlet ko. After that, after ng pagsusulat, siguro time with friends, pupunta talaga ako sa beach, hihinga ako, gaya kay Jen, pumunta siya sa beach para magmove-on.”

How To Move On in 30 Days is ABS-CBN’s newest venture—the romcom series is the media corporation’s first YouTube exclusive series, streaming on the platform beginning April 4. It is directed by Benedict Mique and Roderick Lindayag, and also stars John Lapus, John Arcilla, Sherry Lara, Phoemela Baranda, Poppert Bernadas, Hanie Jarrar, Elyson De Dios, Rans Rifol, and James Bello.
