IU Joins Hirokazu Kore-eda Film ‘Broker’

2021 is truly shaping up to be the year of IU!

Yesterday, Soompi reported that the Hallyu star has been cast in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s film Broker.

Kore-eda, a 2018 Palme d’Or awardee at the Cannes Film Festival with his film Shoplifters, is set to direct IU alongside Song Kang Ho (Parasite), Kang Do Won (Train to Busan and Peninsula), and Bae Doona (Kingdom and Sense8).

According to the same report, Broker tells the story of “baby boxes, which are set up for people who are no longer able to provide for their babies to anonymously give them up.”

Broker is set to head into filming and production this year.
