7 Highlights From the First Two Episodes of "Are You Sure?!"

BTS members Jimin and Jungkook have embarked on an exciting new adventure, but this time it's not on the stage—it’s on a travel show! Titled Are You Sure?!, this unique Disney+ series documents the duo’s adventures across New York in the Summer, Jeju Island in the Autumn, and Sapporo in the Winter before their mandatory military service in South Korea.

Filmed in 2023, the duo starts their adventure after Jungkook’s amazing performance at the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series. With New York as their first destination, Jimin and Jungkook get in the car and set out on a road trip in the US, where they spend their free time kayaking, camping, and hiking among others.

This travel show was actually Jimin’s idea! He made the suggestion to Jungkook about filming a video of the two of them traveling, and Jungkook didn’t think much about it and agreed to it! “I knew it wouldn’t happen if I didn’t push it forward myself, and since Jungkook is busy nowadays, I thought I should come here [US] to film it while he has some time off. I took a 14-hour flight to get here,” Jimin shares. 

And we’re so happy about their determination to make this travel series a reality!  While watching the show, we could not help but be charmed by the genuine moments of connection, adventure, and fun that Jimin and Jungkook share on screen. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their spontaneous, light-hearted attitude while traveling makes Are You Sure?! a refreshing and enjoyable watch. 

Here are a few highlights that stood out during the first 2 episodes of "Are You Sure?!":

1. Jimin and Jungkook’s peak sibling energy 

From their very first scene together, it’s clear that Jimin and Jungkook share a bond that goes beyond mere friendship. Their playful teasing, inside jokes, and the way they instinctively look out for each other create a warm, sibling-like dynamic that’s impossible not to love. From playfully shadowboxing each other in the store to teasing each other about their parking skills, the duo’s chemistry is infectious and will have you smiling from ear to ear. 

2. “I miss the members”

Throughout the show, Jimin and Jungkook expressed how much they miss the other BTS members. In fact, during their camping trip, the two video-called fellow BTS members V and Suga. This just shows their deep connection and the strong bond that BTS shares as a group. Even while traveling, Jimin and Jungkook couldn’t help but think of their fellow members, demonstrating how close-knit they are, even when miles apart. 

3. ARMY

With BTS’ immense popularity worldwide, it is no surprise that Jimin and Jungkook were recognized by fans, even in the most unexpected places. As Jimin said, they “still got it!” Whether it’s in a sporting goods store or the grocery store, ARMYs were quick to spot the duo, leading to heartwarming interactions. While at the grocery store, an ARMY even showed the pair her BTS-related tattoo before she prepared their pizza. 

4. Behind-the-scenes chaos

“Whenever BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook meet, chaos and excitement ensue!” the official synopsis reads. And this is just what happened! Their unpredictable adventure is full of surprises.

Jungkook's infamous “water curse” seems to follow him wherever he goes. Whether it’s getting rained on while riding the motorcycle or tumbling off a kayak within minutes of getting on it, Jungkook’s knack for attracting water-related mishaps provides endless entertainment. His reaction? A mix of laughter and disbelief, all while making sure his phone—his most prized possession—stays safe and dry.

Jimin was not spared from his own share of mishaps either! From getting a stomach bug, getting elbowed by a sleeping Jungkook, and battling mosquitoes during their hike, Jimin hilariously said “I didn’t come here for this!” 

5. Culinary adventures

No travel experience is complete without good food, and Jimin and Jungkook made sure to indulge in some memorable culinary moments during their trip. From grabbing all the snacks possible in the grocery store (including Jungkook’s favorite Twinkies!) to trying different restaurants to grilling up a feast during their camping trip, the duo made food a central part of their adventure in the US. 

6. Spontaneous musical moments

Music is in their DNA, and even on a vacation, Jimin and Jungkook couldn't resist indulging in spontaneous musical sessions. Whether it was humming tunes while driving or breaking into impromptu dance moves, these moments were pure joy for ARMYs to witness.

Fun fact: Jungkook was actually the first BTS member to hear Jimin’s newest album MUSE. As seen in episode 2, the pair listens to Jimin’s album for the first time while giving each other some feedback and praise! 

7. A special guest

In the upcoming episode, the show gets even more exciting with the arrival of a special guest! BTS member V joins Jimin and Jungkook on their adventure in Jeju Island, adding an extra layer of fun and camaraderie to the series.  “You guys can’t go to Jeju without me,” V says in the preview clip for the next episode.

Known for his unique personality and close friendship with both Jimin and Jungkook, V's presence is sure to bring even more laughter, unforgettable moments, and perhaps a few surprises.
