Jung Hae-in as Han Woo-tak in ‘While You Were Sleeping’
We are so, so sorry we missed this the first time around. Many of you directed our attention to this, and we’d like to remedy the situation by spotlighting this oppa and opening the article with visuals of this killer physique. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re more than happy to reintroduce you to the one and only officer Han Woo-tak played by the one and only Jung Hae-in.

His torso is so chiselled that even Jung Jae-chan (Lee Jong-suk) gets all flustered as he compliments him on his body. Nam Hong-joo (Bae Suzy) is about to get an eyeful as well, only to be denied by Jae-chan, who holds a sweater in front of Woo-tak, encouraging him to dress faster.

Song Kang as Park Jae-eon in ‘Nevertheless’
Ah, the Son of Netflix and definitely one of the Lord’s finest specimens. 2021 was The Year of Song Kang, and none of us are complaining. He sent our heads spinning and our hearts pounding as the living, breathing do-you-want-to-see-the-butterflies red flag that is Park Jae-eon in the addictive slow burn romance drama Nevertheless.

When Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee) and Jae-eon get intimate for the first time, we get treated to gorgeous shots of the masterpiece that is Song Kang’s back, with the camera always, always lingering on the telltale butterfly tattoo. It’s not bold or gratuitous by any means, but it’s certainly one of the most beautiful showcasing of an oppa’s body.

Cho Jung-seok as Cha Dong-tak in ‘Two Cops’
Known as ‘the master of acting out daily lives,’ Cho Jung-seok disappears into his roles, doing so in such a way that is so seamless that you forget he’s playing a character. In Two Cops, this charismatic hottie plays Cha Dong-tak, a dedicated detective whose body is possessed by the soul of a skilled conman, and the two join forces to put the bad guys in their place.

We get a shirtless scene right off the bat when Dong-tak walks into the police station and changes shirts while his colleagues look on enviously, with some complaining that he treats their workplace as his own. Jung-seok once joked about how his abs have disappeared, but we certainly don’t see it. His back tells no lies, either, a clear indication of how hard this actor—who also does his own stunts in action-oriented projects, by the way—worked for his role.

Ji Sung as Kang Yo-han in ‘The Devil Judge’
Stellar performance, meet stellar body. Ji Sung delivers a career-turning performance as Kang Yo-han, a merciless jurist whose courtroom trials are aired live for viewers to take part in, and he is absolutely riveting throughout the whole series. We’re treated to quite a few shirtless scenes, but the post-dream scene in the twelfth episode is an absolute treat.

Ji Sung as Kang Yo-han in ‘The Devil Judge’
Not only do we get a good view of Ji Sung’s gorgeous body—everyone really is into sculpted backs these days—and jawline, but we get a good dose of his acting chops as well. He reaches out for his deceased brother, who bears a strong resemblance to the associate judge in his department. Upon waking, he walks over to the window, a haunted look in his eyes as he recalls the events of his nightmare.

Lee Joon as Ok Eul-tae in ‘Bulgasal’
Eccentric, power-hungry, and oh so sexy, former MBLAQ member Lee Joon showcases pure acting excellence as tortured immortal Ok Eul-tae in the fantasy thriller Bulgasal. Incredible as a villain, he adds plenty of spice to the show, both in terms of character and in terms of body—and oh, what a body he has.

Lee Joon as Ok Eul-tae in ‘Bulgasal’
This scene reveals that everything is actually his doing—that he is our big bad. He’s pulling the strings from the shadows, hoping to sway Hwal (Lee Jin-wook) away from Min Sang-un (Kwon Na-ra) and into his own good graces. This scene is definitely the highlight of the episode—and that body just scored it a few extra points.

Wi Ha-joon as K and Lee Dong-wook as Ryu Su-yeol in ‘Bad and Crazy’
This time, you get two for the price of one—which is a recurring theme throughout the action thriller Bad and Crazy. Corrupt detective Ryu Soo-yeol (Lee Dong-wook) suffers from a serious case of split personality. His heroic counterpart is K (Wi Ha-joon), a righteous yet crazy helmet-wearing mystery figure who uses his fists to deal with, well, everything.

The two characters are featured in a fist fight against each other, bathed in red light as a group of onlookers yell and cheer as they watch from the sidelines. It’s a poignant manifestation of Soo-yeol’s two personalities battling for dominance, with K getting the upper hand as he knocks Soo-yeol to the ground.

Wi Ha-joon as K and Lee Dong-wook as Ryu Su-yeol in ‘Bad and Crazy’
As both men are sans shirts, this scene is definitely a feast for the eyes. Both Dong-wook and Ha-joon are gym rats and workout enthusiasts, and their physiques will have you on the edge of your seat as you watch them duke it out.

Nam Joo-hyuk as Jung Joon-hyung in ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo’
It would be terribly unfair if they cast such a good-looking fellow as a swimmer and not give him a shirtless scene, right? Thankfully, the Weightlifting Fairy gods took note of this and deemed us worthy of a topless Nam Joo-hyuk—there are several instances, in fact—but there’s one that truly takes the cake given how the camera pans over him.

Nam Joo-hyuk as Jung Joon-hyung in ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo’
Jung Joon-hyung is a gifted swimmer with a killer body and a playful personality who attends the same university as our titular heroine. He’s simply standing and stretching in this sequence, but you see his abs flex and his back muscles shift, which is pretty damn sexy.

Ahn Bo-hyun as Nam Eun-gi in ‘Her Private Life’
Bo-hyun put a lot of work into building the body he wanted for Eun-gi, going as far as to exercise at dawn, telling Soompi, “I’d gained around 7 kilograms in Episode 1, but by the end I’d lost around 5 kilograms. If I’d had more time, I could’ve built my body better, so I regret that a little bit.”

Park Hyung-sik as Yoo Chang-soo in ‘High Society’
We always end up with an oppa whose shirt rips open at the most inopportune moment. For the second round of our shirtless scene round-up, this honour goes to Park Hyung-sik, who plays chaebol Yoo Chang-soo in the romance melodrama High Society. His character ends up in an awkward position, caught between a scuffle between two women, and in a car at that.

Having had enough, he gets out, only for his shirt to rip to shreds, most of it ending up in his girlfriend’s hands thanks to her iron grip. It’s hilarious how Lee Ji-yi (Lim Ji-yeon) goes “daebak” before promptly passing out.

Gong Yoo as Kang Kyung-joon/Seo Yoon-jae in ‘Big’
Our OG oppa plays Seo Yoon-jae, a doctor who gets into a car accident and winds up dying after trying to save the transfer student who was in it with him. Kang Kyung-joo, the student, ends up in a coma, but finds himself waking up in Yoon-jae’s body.

Gong Yoo as Kang Kyung-joon/Seo Yoon-jae in ‘Big’
The scene where he realises what happened is all sorts of hilarious, but also sexy. We get to ogle Gong Yoo’s fine physique—in a morgue, of all places—as he tries to get a sense of what happened. He leaves the room in just a sheet, only to discover his fiancee, Gil Da-ran (Lee Min-jung), sobbing in the hallway. It’s an emotional scene for sure, but Kyung-joon/Yoon-jae’s chiselled torso makes for one fine distraction.
