Are you ready to see Nam Joo-hyuk and Kim Tae-ri fall in love in Twenty Five, Twenty One?
Brought to you by Director Jung Ji-hyun (The King: Eternal Monarch, You Are My Spring) and Screenwriter Kwon Do-eun (Search: WWW), Twenty Five, Twenty One is about youth who find new direction and growth after their dreams are taken away. It also tells the love story between Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) and Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), and is set in 1998 amidst the turbulence of the East Asian Financial Crisis.
Kim Tae-ri plays Na Hee-do, an athlete and member of the high school fencing team. Because of the financial crisis, the team gets disbanded. Getting though all the trials, she becomes a member of the saber fencing national team.
The financial crisis also affects Baek Yi-jin, played by Nam Joo-hyuk, as his father's business goes bankrupt. This leads to a drastic life change for Yi-jin who goes from being wealthy to struggling financially. While studying, he must work part-time jobs like delivering newspapers. Later on, he becomes a sports reporter for a broadcasting network. On saying yes to this role and playing his character, Nam Joo-hyuk shared: "I decided to be part [of this project] because it seemed like a drama that everyone could enjoy together as they remembered those days and empathize with it, saying, 'That’s what it was like those days.'”
