Your Home The Series Is The New Pinoy BL Series To Watch Out For
During its initial airing, the episode defines what “home” is to each of its respective characters.
Here’s another treat for all Boys Love (BL) series fans—Arcana Studios Inc. recently released the newest show on the block, Your Home The Series, that viewers can watch out for every Friday evening.
It seems like the production house aimed for this series to be a Christmas present to avid followers of the genre. Unlike previously aired Pinoy BL series, Your Home is set in the scenic fictional town of Barrio Balay. It also introduces fresh faces in leads Kurt Mendoza as the probinsyano Bart Arceo and Renz Kieser as the city guy Bryce Fajardo. They are joined by Marc David as Bryce’s childhood bestfriend Josh Villareal and Eurwin Canzana as the famous beatboxer Edwin Panganiban.
This coming of age story is brimming with possibilities. As the production house describes, Your Home creates a world where boys’ love is normal—that no matter who you are attracted to, judgment is brushed on the sidelines, that being different because of your preferences won’t gather comments from those who don’t know your story. Whether you’re a guy who likes another guy, there’s always room for love and acceptance especially from those who matter.
The first episode, which aired last week, established the characters in this BL show, from Bart who lives in the comforts of the home he’s known his whole life, Barrio Balay, to Bryce’s assemblage of comfort in a space he solely occupies. Every one of them depicts the kind of home that viewers themselves have lived in, pouring their respective definitions and how it plays a vital role in their becoming.
The 20-minute pilot didn’t get into the kilig scenes right away. The ending seconds only revealed how the main characters initially met. The whole episode is composed of musings—like how normal people do in times of solitary, spending time in their heads thinking about how this life has turned them and their lives into this. How coping with situations can either offer a sense of contentment, longing, or perhaps, hope for the next day.
Based on its trailer, however, we can expect a rollercoaster of emotions when the narrative begins entangling their lives to one another—so prepare a box of tissues and watch out for moments of laughter and cry sessions during its eight-episode run.
Your Home The Series will be out on the Arcana Studios Inc Youtube Channel every Friday at 8pm. Will you be tuning in? We will!
