Lee Min-Ho and Woo Do-Hwan of The King: Eternal Monarch
The long-awaited comeback of Lee Min-Ho brought an extra dose of sweetness on our screens, as he exchanged witty banter and camaraderie with Woo Do-Hwan, who played the dual role of the king’s bodyguard in fictional Corea and a lovable police officer in modern-day South Korea.
Kim Soo-Hyun of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay
Another long-awaited drama comeback was Kim Soo-Hyun, who definitely left his mark on our hearts with It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Beyond the series’ amazing visuals and gorgeous fashion, is an honest and important look at mental health—something that we all needed to see in 2020. In fact, we loved this drama so much that it was the most enduring title of 2020 on Netflix Philippines by staying in the Top 10 for 103 days.
Kim Dong-Hee of Extracurricular
Fans of Sky Castle and Itaewon Class were thrilled to see Kim Dong-Hee in his own starring role in the gritty and intense drama, Extracurricular. The series was a wild ride from start to finish, and we couldn’t help but root for his character’s success—despite the many, many frustrating setbacks along the way.
Nam Joo-Hyuk of The School Nurse Files
Making another appearance in one of this year’s most popular K-dramas is Nam Joo-Hyuk, who played the kind-hearted teacher Hong In-Pyo in The School Nurse Files. Together with Ahn Eun-Young (Jung Yu-Mi) and with nothing but a colorful toy sword, they fiercely fought their way through mysterious jellies to protect their students.
Park Seo-Joon of Itaewon Class
We were so inspired by the passion and determination of Park Sae-Royi in Itaewon Class that there was a rise of Pinoys watching Park Seo-Joon’s other shows on Netflix! Beloved and familiar titles like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Fight For My Way all trended on Netflix Philippines.
Song Kang in Sweet Home
And finally, for fans who fell for Song Kang’s irresistible charm in 2019’s Love Alarm, don’t feel left out! He makes an exciting return on December 18 in a role you’ve never seen before, the reclusive Hyun-Su in the upcoming Netflix Original Series, Sweet Home, premiering on December 18!
